Givi Tank Lock Ring

I've always used Givi tank lock bags on my bikes, however, can't seem to find the right tank lock ring for the 2015 Versys 650. Does anyone know if it's the same as previous years -- Part #BF04?

Well, according to Kawasakiparts, the 2014 and 2015 Versys 650 tank ring assembly is identical, and uses the same parts.
Soooo, the Givi tank lock flange part number *should* be BF04 for the 2015 as well. Just ordered it.... I'll let'cha know...

Funny I saw this post as I'm considering getting the Givi tank lock for my 2015. How does the bag ride, does it shake or vibrate at speed? I want one with a map case on it but nothing too big. Thanks.

I have the 20 litre Givi tank lock bag, just don't put anything too heavy in the section closest to the rider and it's sweet.

My last one was the XS307 -- the 15 liter. I was *very* happy with it on the bike it was on. The Versys seems to have a more sloped tank, so I'm going with the XS308 this time -- the 20 litre referenced above, which seems to be more form fitting.
Great bags... no vibes, no shake, solid connection, easy on and off -- nice system.
My only nit with these bags are the new "waterproof" close-able liners... they're useless, and take up room (which is at a premium in tank bags). Might just cut mine out.

Ride safe...

Thanks for the replies guys. The paint on my white 15 is really nice so I will definitely be going with this system as to keep it that way.

I am interested in a tanklock bag for my 2015 650. I searched and found this thread...

What was the outcome? Does the BF04 fit?

I bought a Givi tanklock bag and unfortunately had to return it because it didn't fit on account of my handlebar risers. Even with the bag offset as far as possible on the tanklock ring there wasn't enough clearance to turn the bars fully.

Thanks for the response.

Is your Versys a 2015? Stock risers or aftermarket? Did the BF04 mount work for you otherwise?

The handlebars touch the Givi tank bag on my 2012 at full lock with the motowerk risers on. Didn't stop me using it. Depends where you put the handle bars when bolting them back on.

I have the Givi tank ring on my 2012 with the 4L tankbag. I love it though I wouldn't mind having the bigger bag. It's very secure and clips on and off in a flash. I would definitely recommend it.

SW Motech also makes a version of this as well I think with power as an option for a 12v plug.

The XS306. It was a great bag and I wish I could have kept it.

I guess I should've asked..was it because of the risers? I've got two long trips this spring and summer and am in need of a tank bag...Givi tank-lock was big on my list...though I don't expect much full tilt boogie riding..there might be some..and I don't need something in the way of my bars...

Again as I said before, it depends where you set your handlebars. Mine touched the tank bag but didn't interfere with it (Motowerk Anti-vibe riser, XS308 Givi tank bag)

Yes, it was due to the risers (Motowerk). You can adjust where you mount the ring on the bottom of the bag but even with it moved to get maximum clearance it still wouldn't work for me.

It sounds like MaverickAus was able to make his work so he might have some tips for you.

Sorry I didn't notice this and respond sooner...

It's a 2015. I have Motowerks risers and it is the BF04 tank ring that fits the Versys.

Have a nelson-rigg tank bag

Came with strap (because N-Rigg specifacly tells that magnets might "peel" the paint, especialy on grey paint, my ride is "moondust grey") instead of magnet, but it became a pita when on a ride I had to either un-hook everything or empty for fear of "stuff" geting stolen

So I cut the strap and used this (that I've glued and screwed on the tank bag) and am now a happy rider

My 2 cents
