That is a good lid. Good price as well. The same style Arai is nearly $600.00. If you get one, let as all know how it is. Guaranteed for life-interesting to see how that would work-if your life ends....... you get your money back?

I have the afx-90 not the exact helmet but pretty close, only issue i have with the afx is its very noisey, lots of wind noise. I had a Grex modular helmet that was real nice but the lens got so scratched after a few years and I could not find a replacement, so now my wife wears it. I almost bought that helmet when I had the klr though, the white one looks like part of a storm trooper costume

I love the looks of that helmet....My only concern is - does the face shield flip up at all or is it constantly shut?

If you read the description it says that it is either always shut or you can remove it for google/sunglass use.

Actually, no, it doesn't say that...It says "Shield can be removed to allow open face riding or goggle use ". In the ADV Rider link, one poster says:
"Despite some of the comments regarding distortion I ordered one and am very pleased with it. I like the ability to drop down a face shield when on the road and yet have it open for in the dirt."

So.....That's why I'm asking.

I am making the assumption that the face shield doesn't flip up on the description from the first link posted by Gti...

THIS HELMET IS IN STOCK!
-This helmet model meets or exceeds both ECE 22.05 and DOT FMVSS-218 motorcycle helmet safety standards.
-An aerodynamic shell design constructed using an advanced lightweight composite poly-alloy
-A flush-fit, quick-release, single-turn screw face shield with side covers. The shield itself is optically correct, compound-curved, scratch-resistant and protects against UV-rays
-Shield can be removed to allow open face riding or goggle use
-A helmet liner and cheek pads made with a hypo-allergenic and antimicrobial nylon, all of which are removable and washable
-9 points of ventilation with chin, side, forehead, top and rear vents
-A square type D-ring with chin strap holder
-Provides ample ear cavity space for speakers
-A clearcoat finish to protect paint & graphics
-Comes with a Lifetime Warranty

Once again, I am just assuming based on that description. It seems to me the only need for it to be completely removable is because it can't be flipped up. I may be wrong, and I kind of hope I am.

Gti, let us know what you think...

gti20vturbo-
Any update on this helmet? I still REALLY like the looks of it and may have to get one, as long as the shield can be lifted up.....

Its an ok helmet. For the price its a GOOD helmet. It fits similar in size to my HJC CL14. AS far as noise its a medium, not loud, not quiet. It will make a great summer helmet for tooling around town. On a completely naked bike the visor will catch some air flow and pull the helmet in various directions but its not that bad. Would I buy another one? YES. Would I wear this helmet on a two week cross country ride without a windshield (naked bike) NO.
