yeah I red it this morning...very impressed! the jacket costs 599 euro plus shipping...it is expensive from pocket perspective but very very cheap from your skins perspective....
I will see if I can get a good deal in Italy through a local friend

Hopefully there will be a trickle down effect and we can buy jackets made from this stuff at a more reasonable price in the future.

There is already textile gear available that has a CE level 2 rating. I don't think it's widely available in the USA.

There are even CE level 2 motorcycle jeans. Yes, motorcycle jeans that are safer (based on an objective standard) than most leather riding pants.
