Rear View Helmet

I was searching for bike gear, and came aross this helmet. It has a rear view camera in it to allow you to see directly behind you. If you scroll down the page you can see what the wearer sees when wearing it. Seems pretty cool, but I had never heard of it.

I have seen one of these in person. Great idea, but the helmet seemed quite bulky, which you can't see from the photo.

It is not a camera, but a series of mirrors. I tried one of the helmets on in a demo and it was very comfortable, not too heavy for me and the mirror worked well. When budget allows, I intend to get one for round town riding.

I've tried it on about 3 years ago at the Montreal Moto Show. The small rectangular mirror is above your brow area you can glance up and see whats behind you. It does work, but the idea doesn't interest me personally. I think the Medium was around 1.800 g, which is on the heavier side but it felt like its well balanced. And yes its totally lollipop too.

I've tried it on 2 weeks ago on a trade fair. It felt good, but I had no chance of riding in it or sitting on bike with it. I'm not sure whether you'll be able to see what's going on behind you without tilting your head up. AFAIK it's not a legal replacement for mirrors on the bike, so I'm not sure why to bother...
