http://www.luggagelocker.com/

My brother, who has had a Luggage Locker tank bag for years, shot me this link today.

Luggage Locker offered excellent products - I put tens of thousands of touring miles with both Luggage Locker tank and seat bags.

..had personal dealings and modifications help from the owner, Leslie Alderman, and he was always accessible, cooperative, and straight-forward in his dealings and advice.

All of the above traits provided great potential for continuing success...but at present economic success is the enemy of the state.

It seems that large corporations with China Inc. connections think that they own the rights to all profits and will do anything to achieve their goals, workers and small business be damned. Governments help them achieve their goals at the expense of jobs with the exception of minimum wage jobs at retail level.

That is one of the reasons that I ride, to escape some of the bullcrap.

Sorry to see an independent motorcycle biz fold, especially one respected in our community.

Everything I've read on the subject indicates that raising minimum wage REDUCES jobs.

Seems that raising them sets people up to look at an entry-level job as a lifetime career... which it AIN'T.

Re: Sad News About Luggage Locker

What does an election has anything to do with shutting down a business? Sounds more like an excuse to make a political statement.

Sorry guys, but you have to realize the business climate for small companies right now.

Something like 97% of small businesses fail. That means that most of them teeter on the verge of failing all the time. Profit margins are tight. Introduce added costs, taxes, fees, inspections, and government oversight and it pushes them over the brink. Most of these companies that make it can hang on through one or two of the above happening, but throw in three, four, or five new costs and it's a quickly sinking ship.

Expect to see a lot more of this.

I work for a family owned business
When I see the city, county, state, fed all adding to their take it appears to be a death of a thousand cuts. Then if you should happen to make a legitimate profit as opposed to the Government Motor Co version...you're a dog. SOMEBODY has to produce to support the service world.

Left or right! We have bigger problems than that IMO, and we will see all of this in the next two year.

Smily I think you have it right! Ride to escape the crap and have fun!

Denial - when you avoid accepting responsibility for the failure of your own business and blame it on the results of a presidential election.

I don't know any thing about the failure of the business. Just know what I read of the website.

We are not out of the woods yet! Although Canada is in really good shape vs the USA, as far as Eco 101.

Perhaps some day we'll all meet up somewhere down the road.

Ride safe and may the days ahead heal for a better future and a new Business.
