I've been running Oxford Adventure heated grips for a couple years now. The smart controller is a nice feature if you connect directly to the battery. I use an aux power relay and fuse block, so it isn't as important to me. These grips get HOT! I rarely feel the need to go above 75% for any length of time. The rubber is soft and grippy, though it does wear quickly if your gloves have Super Fabric inserts - as my summer gloves do. I made some neoprene fabric grip covers to increase the grip size and reduce vibrations. They have also protected the grips from wear.
I'd suggest ignoring the tube of super glue that comes with the grips and install them with silicone sealant/adhesive. It takes a couple hours to setup, but it can deal with the expansion and contraction that comes with large temperature changes. The super glue only lasted a week or so before the grips loosened.
