I try not to think about how I look to people, but have to admit that I don't have the guts to wear that Mohawk on my helmet.

Many years ago my friend had a BMW bike and so did I. His sink was plugged up so we rode to a store to get a plunger. He had no way to secure to the bike so he stuck it to his helmet. I thought he was joking in the parking lot that he'd ride all the way back to his place with it like that, but he did. I rode my bike behind him and just kept laughing and laughing. He got honks, waves, people pointing at him, laughs, etc.

There's a saying: Please God give us men who are not afraid to make clowns of themselves.

Around here, the mohawk seems to be an instant squid alert. You only see them on guys with sportbikes with rashed up/missing body work and no gear on (my wife just said "usually in a wife beater").

I can't say much though, I used to have devil horns that stuck to the top of my helmet and my friend had dog ears and we used to get a lot of attention/compliments/phone numbers just off of that alone so at least people see them.

It never occurred to me to think of those things as a safety device.

I'm calm like a bomb!
