I've had one since March 2010 and have no complaints what so ever. Heres a better price for it....http://www.motosport.com/motorcycle/...FLO-OIL-FILTER

I'd have to keep my Versys for about ten years for this to pay off... I get Bosch or Purolator filters for about $6... regardless, it's a pretty cool farkle.

Bosch 3300 oil filter: $3.66 each from Rock Auto (search '3300').

Who is the winner if the oil is not purified as good as a through a regular filter...?

I had one of those on a previous bike, just for the look of it.

The various forum experts criticized it for the laser-cut filtration screen inside as not being the equivalent of good old filter paper....quoted chapter and verse about percentages and microns of material being trapped...condemned the cost, amortized over x-number of miles and x-number of riding years...but I put tons of miles on that bike with never an issue. Hey: if I wanted everything to be absolutely cost-effective, I never should have bought my first motorcycle many years ago.

The thing had a magnet on the interior that was so strong I had trouble getting off the bike if I was wearing a belt that had a large buckle.

I liked that filter!

These are popular among dirt bike owners. You generally replace your oil after every long ride, and replace the filter every other oil change. People have been using these for a long time.
So, the concept is sound.

But, for the Versys, Purolaters are cheap enough...plus they match the yellow color of my bike

Cool look, but screens wont generally do the job of a paper filter. Not close to the same micron, plus if they did filter as well you can't possibly wash and blow out all the contamination.
