Saw a 2012 in Cherokee late Friday afternoon and about 2 minutes later saw an 08! I don't think the 2012 guy realized mine was a V but the 08 guy and I waved and acknowledged our bikes immediately. I wanted to turn around but was wanting to get to the campground before dark.

I've seen this yellow Versys several times near the grocery store in my neighborhood, but I've never seen the owner. Spotted in the Fry's parking lot on the north side of the Ray/Rural intersection in Tempe, AZ.
Saw a blue one going west bound on the 10 near Culver City in socal. I was the one on the imperial red who slowed down to wave. Is that someone on the forum here?
My friend has just ridden half way across the country, over the inter island ferry and just arrived home to show me his new Versys. I dont get to see many V down my way so this does count as a sighting haha.
I don't mean to be petulant, but how far is "half way across the country?"
I am glad that there is at least one new Versys in your country.
Haha, yep good point, since Texas is a lot bigger than my country it is about a 500 km or 300 miles road trip with a 3 hr inter island ferry crossing so not a big deal for Texans but for us little hobbits it is huge to be out of the shire.
Looked up New Mexico, 121,589 square miles, NZ 103,483 square miles, Colorado 104,185 square miles.
the first time i saw one was at the dealer i was looking for a naked bike a ducati monster 796 but since they cost way too much for maintenance i looked for something else and there it was near the window , i took it for a test ride , when i came back hit a big smile on my face , i bought it a nice 2012 versys and loving it

Same here. Only addition, was my research. I was wanting something FUN to get me past the boring cruiser. I had ridden them my entire life. I started searching for "Fun Motorcycle". The Versys kept popping up so I looked here at our forum. Again, everywhere I turned, I saw "fun". The test ride sold it.

I did my research and bought one site-unseen and drove halfway down Florida to pick it up... never saw one in the flesh. Never regretted my choice.

Work sent me to Hawaii this week, it's rough duty let me tell you!
I may have accidentally rented an F800GS, which I'm loving, but not as much as my Versys, because, we'll, it's mine!
Anyway, I saw a blue one near north shore on kamehameha hwy twice, once when he passed me while I was taking a break, and once going the other way looking for some shrimp
