Default Had to buy a H-D T-shirt...ouch!

Let me preface this post by saying I'm a Harley owner and have my share of the Motor Company's apparel. But I had to buy an Buffalo H-D t-shirt for my neighbor's brother (who lives in Massachusetts) to reciprocate, as he gave me a t-shirt from his local dealer. He's a good guy and has bought a few pairs of KD's suglasses from me.

Admittedly, it's been a while since I've stepped foot into a Harley dealer. It's not that I don't want to, I just haven't had the need to. So when I looked at the prices of the t-shirts, I was sick to my stomach to see there was no shirt under 30 bucks!! It's a friggin t-shirt for Pete's sake!! WTF!

But I wanted to do right by my neighbor's brother, so I sucked it up and laid out the cash for it. Kinda felt violated as I walked back out to my truck.

Whew! Glad I don't shop ther often.....

Several years ago I was buying my wife a few stocking stuffers and I saw a neat little H-D bandana for $3.95 and figured that sounded about right. When they rang it up, it was $13.95--for a bandana! The transaction was not consummated.

At least you know you were doing it for the right reason.

True story, my local dollar store sells reasonably priced HD apparel for small dogs. Nothing like having a bad ass Chihuahua in your handbag.

dogs don't know they're little, they just know they're dogs.
I know an ancient woman that I run agility with & I swear her miniature chihuahua packs a switch blade

I was shopping at the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul yesterday. They had all sorts of t-shirts, including HD and Mike Tyson (go figure) and other stuff, for about $8 - $12 each. I'm sure they were just as high a quality as all the watches and perfumes and colognes that they were selling, too

I also own a Harley.A couple years ago I was in KC, so I went on a tour through the Harley factory .The tour finishes up at the gift shop .I started to walk out of the gift shop and the guide asked why aren't you going to buy anything. I just smiled at him and told him I already bought your bike wasn't that enough. I don't own anything that's says Harley or makes reference to Harley but the bike . But than again I don't own any Kawasaki apparel either.

I am not brand bashing here but, I never understood why anyone would want a motorcycle shirt from another location unless they rode the bike there. Or, wear a Triumph shirt when they never owned or rode one is another example. Wear a shirt stating I partied in Cancun but never set foot on a beach.
Probably just me as I see people buy them all the time when I am buying parts for my wifes Buell at HD. I don't judge them or really care that much but I just would not do it.

I don't get that either. I DO have a H-D T shirt I got in TX when we were vacationing there. It was $20 as were most of the T shirts there, and high quality (even though it was made in Pakistan). Other souvenir T shirts were $15-$30 anyway, so I really don't feel violated.

As has been said....HD has marketing perfected. Saw this on ADV - thank goodness they're officially licensed!
