Ouch. Now the nanny states will ban bags because they are dangerous.

This the reason I do not like the idea of bags that extend out like those. Kinda like a cat in a hole. If the whiskers fit, so will the rest! That drop looks scary as hell. Glad the bike did not land on top of him.
Watching the video I couldn't help but wonder whether this was staged somehow. Who was doing the filming? What are the odds of someone just filming a random bike rider pulling into a marina as an accident scene unfolds? It just seems a little odd to me.

Whether it was staged or not, I would never want to experience anything like that. Damn shame that FJR was damaged like that, I really like those bikes. That or a Connie will be next up on my list.

My first take was that this was staged since the video was so good. Then I saw how the rider landed in the boat. That could have been very bad in my opinion.
I do not think that it was faked, but then perhaps someone wanted to ruin a good bike and endanger their life.

How come this was filmed in such a good manner ... ?
Lighting is good !
Framing is godd !
Follow thrue is good !
Quality of image is good !
Seems like it's stage to me
I kind of thought the camera work seemed staged as well but the accident itself doesn't seem staged. I don't know how you could rehearse that and the chances of getting it just so the first time through is just hard to imagine.
Maybe if I've got some down time I'll take a trip to an FJR forum and see whats going around about it.
EDIT: http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2012/12...ournalist.html
That was a quick search. This may explain why the camera work was good. The camera man was apparently a French journalist doing a piece, so it was a professional camera crew shooting the rider.
I guess that could also explain it being a rigged crash because I don't know what the story was about.
Reading through the story, it does seem to be an accident though.
I have completed my review of the film. Whatever happen was by accident as the stunt person or person involved did some bad damage to his ass and back.

+1. I doubt anyone would ever attempt such an uncontrolled stunt. My take is that someone on the dock was filming their friend doing what was intended to be a slow scenic driveby at the marina, hit his sidecase and ate sh*t.
