What's a madstad? Never mind I googled it. Ugly scaffolding holding the thing in place.

Not the cheapest or best looking in my opinion, but like the mecanism. As for the GPS I just love RAM mounts, as you can easily swap the GPS with a camera when travelling.

I don't see any mention of a spot to mount your GPS. I use the SW Motech GPS mount that is across the handlebar mounts. Perfect location for those of us that wear progresseive lenses.

I'm going to be getting one of these. I had a madstad setup for the Ulysses and it was the best!

Not the prettiest solution but I've no doubt it is effective. I had a similar setup on my scooter with a large barn door type windshield that came up to my chin with at least an inch gap at the bottom. The aerodynamics of this means the air that comes over the windshield gets sucked down behind it (think aircraft wing). Upshot is you have a continual downdraft pulling water off your visor! Once you've experienced that everything else is just crap.

I just installed the MRA Vario in the hope to get the same effect but no joy. It's a slight improvement over the stock windshield but only just.

That scaffolding would be a good place for a Ram Ball or two.

My brotha from anotha motha! I had a Madstad on my '06 Uly with a tall CalSci windshield. LOVED that setup but it all went with the bike when I sold it.

It's available. Check twisted throttle (vicious cycle here in Canada). I have one on my 07.
