I know this works, but I really didn't want to remove the existing covers. I was looking for something to go over them and cover that bottom gap and this seemed like the perfect solution.

You can use the belly pan from the ER6-N to cover the the gap. Replaces the lower covers on the Versys. Not a bash guard, more of a splash guard.
Thanks for the tip. I was looking for some metal plate/skid plate that works together with the existing lower covers and from the looks of it there's nothing out there.
The weird part is I came across the first metioned skid plate while looking for versys 650 accessories on the Twister throttle, not 1000.
