For sale is a barely used Seat Concepts (SC) seat with standard foam and the "carbon fiber" cover installed on the stock seat pan. The seat was professionally installed by a motorcycle upholsterer.
The seat seems to be best for taller folks (maybe 6'2"+?). I'm about 5'11 and I can reach the ground, but not as comfortably as I'd like, and I sit a little farther back from the handle bars than is comfortable for me.
What you get is a practically brand new seat, professionally installed. All you have to do is put it on and ride.
My total cost was over $300 (including foam/cover, shipping, installation). You get all this plus a seat pan for $250, plus you can probably get at least $100 for your stock seat.
I also have the stock foam I can toss in for little more.
(????)
Check out Weljo's threads on seats, that guy tried 'em all.
For a lot of folks the rider portion of the seat is a little short, back to front. The SC seat moves the pocket back (and eliminates the forward tilt), but to do that with the stock pan they raise the overall height. Works for some, not for all.
I modified my stock seat using CBrown's posts for guidance. This involves removing the cover, reshaping the stock foam, adding some comfort foam, then re-attaching the cover. That last bit is the only part that is a kinda tough, I borrowed an upholstery stapler from a friend.
It's a $5 Farkle.
It looks stock.
But it's not Carbon Fiber.

That is a good stock seat mod!
Actually the mod I was talking about really isn't free because you do have to buy the foam. Unless you have an old camping matress pad to use. You do not remove the cover!
I guess my point was there are stock seat mods you can do yourself!
