DIY a yellow spot light below the headlights.
Cost US$ 5 for the spot light (55W).
Got my wireman to do the wiring. Fixed a relay to avoid frying anything. Cost US$ 10. (I suck with electric wiring).
Fixed it with the low beam light. Work well at night giving more light and a distinct white over yellow beam. Works well in the rain, too.
Working on a case for the spot light.
FJS,Sorry for the very late reply.
No, the horn remains at the same position. The V has an upside down suspension setup. The lowest point from the horn to the fender is about 3 inches. Fixed it since May,2009 and so far, :thumb:
Had also fixed the HB 40L bags this morning.
Measurement of the handlebars with the Zeta was about 34 inches.
The HB bags width was about 38 inches (extra 2 inches both sides). Have to be extra careful when lane filtering. That's one of the reasons I decided on the HB Junior instead of the HB Junior Flash. Less noticeable and cost if scratched.
Now just need to find my SOLAS 3M silver reflective tape...
Very nice! You have set up your bike just the way that works best for you and your needs, not blindly following any trends. We could all learn a lesson in that!
For the hard boxes, got some SOLAS grade silver reflective tape.
Was interested in some black tape that reflects silver in the dark when shone on at http://www.streetglo.net/reflective.motorcycle.frame.kit.html
However, easy to get these SOLAS tape as used on lifebouys at sea.
Had also got a locally made rear hugger (US$ 75) and had send it to be sprayed with the radiator cowling. Can't wait to see it in plasma blue.
:clap:color look ok steve, I have just PM mine over to you, mine looks very close and hope to catch you for our weekend ride. sad could not make to GP at Sepang. will miss all the bikes at KL/Sepang.
Pics of the rear hugger (US$ 75) made here locally.
Feel better now when riding in the rain. Some reported rectifier failures here as rainy season setting in.
Didn't ride down today for the Malaysian Motogp but taking a short ride with Fastoman. Early Congratulations to Valentino :clap::clap:.. Besides his flair and personality, there's that burning determination in all his rides we admire.:thumb:
Fastoman gave me a present for my birthday next week. A hard plastic cylinder container to put my bike tools/etc in there. Thank you very much, Fastoman.:thumb: Even has the plasma blue to match.
Fixed this container on the HB box frame.
Well happy birthday:goodluck:,I should have got the lunch for you, didt know it was your b,day around the conner. The container looks nice, will come handly for long tour.
Yes, Fastoman. It is a new piece.
Twisting the existing HB piece would have it short and wouldn't align with the bolt holes. Hopefully much stronger than welding any pieces together.
Had added an extra windshield with the existing Givi 405ST shield.
Took my scratched stock windshield and sprayed it black.
Flip it upside down and fixed it below the Givi.
Difference experienced after this mod:
1. Less turbulance at cruising speed (normally 120-130 km/h)
2. Zeta handlebars doesn't touch the Givi at full lock now.
3. Most importantly, I like it.
Had to replace my Z1000 mirrors as knocked the left mirror and cracked the housing. I am alright but came in too hot near a toll booth. Just a broken mirror to chase all the gremlins away...
Cost about US$ 4 for a pair. Bend them at 90 degrees and put loctite at the threads.
Same threads as the stock and Z1000 mirrors. Now, have to find a place for the blind sector mirror. They make overtaking much easier.
Had a test ride and they're vibration free. Crystal clear on all rpms.:thumb:
Yes, Fastoman. The mirrors are from the EX5.
For info, the Honda EX5 is a 100cc motorcycle which is everywhere in Malaysia.
For the bar vibrations, I have put small bicycle ball bearings a long time ago and that has reduced the vibs a bit. (Not able to find shotgun pellets). It was not too bad when I bought the bike but have had always wanted the bars to be truly vibration free.
Modify the V no longer used stock horn bracket. Bend it to be the base for the new blind sector mirror. Replaced the Zeta bolts with a slightly longer ones.
The mirrors are the same as on the 100cc small bike forward of my V.
