    Don,
Sorry to see you're selling your V. That Teryx should be a blast. Do you have a place to ride that thing? Take care.

I've got the windscreen off for polishing to remove minor scratches. I'll leave it off to install the Powerlet socket. I'm like a kid in a candy store when it comes to new things I want to add/improve on the V. I can't say that I could ever part with this bike.
Yes it's a long trip to California so I plan to pace myself and take each day as it comes and don't wear myself out. A few days on the beach is a good reward.
We camp in that White Star campground right down from Twin Lakes. We rent kayaks in Denver for the whole week. You're right about the spillway being blocked off but you can fish outside the buoys above the damn and just around the bend below the damn. We like paddling up to the mouth of the creek on the west side of the lake and catching those mackinaw lake trout. Good fighters. We also take day trips to explore Turquoise lake, the Arkansas River, etc.
I'll send pics but we need to meet up in person so you can see for yourself.

I've been busy attaching more stuff to my bike: Heated grips, Aprilia mirrors - shoulda done that long ago, Baldwin seat, highway pegs. I'm sure there's more.

Don, Check out how I attached those Oxford saddle bags to my bike. Same attachment point where the reflector used to be just different. They don't allow enough words in a message for me to describe how it all went together. I used 3/8" steel rod, 3/16"x3" plate, 14mm hex socket and a short piece of 1/2" steel pipe. I cut, bent and welded up the frame, aligned it with the seat then welded it all together. poked a hole in the bag for the socket to attach to the 14mm hex head on the sub frame and there you have it. Works great!

Are you still working on the Versys centerstand? When I tried to go to your site I encountered the site under construction notice.
    Thanks,

This weekend is my dad's 90th b-day and the following is the Good Guys event at TMS. We're commemorating a friend who passed recently by entering his 39 chevy. Hopefully, the weekends clear up after that!

    Don,
First off, great design on the center stand. I try to invent but I'm better at improving on existing designs.
Secondly, it's been a crazy summer for me but hope to get back on the bike for the fall riding season. A trip to Arkansas would be great!
I'm currently looking into a Baldwin seat for the V. Money is the only factor there.
Love your green V, btw. Looks fast!

Don, Where did you get the 25th ID sticker there? All the ones I have found are not heat resistant... thanks.

    Don,
Just bought a used 08 Versys from High Five Cycles and loving the bike. We should go riding some time. I live in Farmers Branch (Valley View Lane/Webb Chapel).
I did not know this was an issue on my bike but I will check. However, the previous owner did a few mods so he might've addressed it already.

How's it going Don? I don't mean to stalk you but I hadn't heard anything on the email I sent you and thought maybe you don't check it that often. My brother & I can do limited fabrication and I think, from the pictures you posted, that we could do the fabrication for the center stand for less that what you have been quoted. We just need some more info to put a number to exactly how much. If you don't mind sharing the design with dimensions with us, I'll see what we can do it for. That is, if you're still interested in making the stand. Thanks. -derek.
