Simply amazing. He makes the run at the 1:56 second time frame.

I was most impressed with Charlie, at that age to be trying that stunt!

Charlie's a heck of a guy & good friend of mine.......and he's no spring chicken but he has more drive than anyone I know. I've rode that bike at Maxton, it's a HOOT !!

Dave Owens the builder & tuner of Charlies bike (and another friend) was killed a year ago last September at Maxton while doing a shakedown run on his n/a 'Busa. My son Chad has a record on Dave's bike running 221.8 mph on all motor. Dave had freshened the motor up and Chad was going after another record as soon as Dave made his pass, it never happened.

Charlie's had a really hard time since his best friend Dave died. A few months later Charlie crashed his ZX10R on the street almost killing him, he spent months in the hospital. Finally got out and was on the road to recovery when his son was killed working on a truck that fell on him. Just two months ago Charlies young grandaughter was tragically murdered.

He's a real trooper & tough guy but jeez, how much can one person take?

I'm glad you folks got to see him and Dave, two great guys.

Dan

Stories like that put life's troubles into perspective. My thoughts will be with that family for a while. Wow.
Nobody deserves that kind of pain.
