I ordered my Givi side cases from Sport Tour on Monday and received them on Tuesday. They installed easily and seem to be exactly what I needed. Excellent service at a fair price.:thumb:

does it come with the mounting junk? I'm looking at them through twisted throttle but you have to buy the mounting thing separate...? does that make sense?

The racks are always sold separatly due to the fact that you can mount any of Givi's cases on them (with the exception of the V35). If you are going for a long trip, I would recommend larger cases such as the E41.

I paid $357 for the bags and the mounting hardware delivered. I wanted the smallest hard bags that I could get, still there good for a 2 or 3 day trip. I like the looks much better over the larger bags. I agree that you need larger bags if you are planning a lot of distance traveling. I have a Goldwing for that.

I like it. It looks a lot more balanced IMHO than the super huge bags, although I'm all for function over form, if you need room.

Just placed my order! I think those bags look perfect on the V. My buddies 900RR has WAY more built in storage than the stock Versys. :)

My wife will appreciate the bags too, she won't have to hold her purse (why she brings it on rides I dunno) anymo.

I agree, they look like they were made for the Versys.

Now if someone can some how get a color matched stripe or something...

That looks great! I though you had to move the lights for those bags but based on the pic, I guess not.

Thanks Paul that's the same look as mine. I also tried flipping the mount over and it locates the signals ends behind the license plate which is somewhat cleaner. I went ahead and ordered shock after-market LED signals for front and rear. I just don't like the look with the relocation bracket.

Got mine in the mail and installed them yesterday, just in time for a ride out to the sticks. The 21s are really small! They will hold a couple gallons of milk on each side with plenty of room on top. I REALLY like having these hard locking bags on the bike. It makes it a real pleasure to bring some extras along, gloves, rain gear, a snack, some tools, a camera, etc and not have to worry so much when stopping for lunch. The Givi mounting hardware looks like factory and seems very sturdy. The only bummer is having to move the turn signals. My left signal wiring is about 2" short, I'm going to solder up a short extension and it will be all good.

If anybody is considering these bags, once the mount is installed (takes about 1/2hr or so, excluding wiring the left signal if needed), the bags mount and dismount in seconds, and once mounted seem very secure. You don't feel them on the bike, and they do not interfere with the passenger. Once I installed these bags I took off on a 120mile ride through the country, 25% or so on unpaved forest roads. We even managed a creek crossing. I never once even worried about these bags or if they'd come loose. Wifey likes them. Very cool.

I just received these bags and the PL447 mounting kit today. I tried to install the mounting kit, but I can not for the life of me figure out how to mount the rear of the rack up near the seat. The instructions show some sort of tab there, but my Versys doesn't appear to have this tab. It is a 2008. Does anyone have any suggestions? am I missing something? Thanks.

Who did you order it from? I'm thinking the tabs come with the "fitment kit". Is is possible you've got the bags, the mounting bracket but not the fitment kit? Bummer.

Sport Tour has their site setup so that the kit goes in the shopping cart with the bracket.

Call or email the folks you bought it from and tell them you need the mounting/fitment kit asap.

I ordered mine from Twisted Throttle.

I looked at the sport tour site and it does look like they add a fitment kit automatically. It looks like I didn't read the fine print, the fitment kit does need to be ordered separately. I'll go do that now. Thanks for the reply, otherwise I would be pulling my hair out all night!

You need the fitment kit for the brackets that mounts under the seat.

Those look great macdaddy. Do you have to remove the left bag to get to the seat key hole or can you open the lid? Picture would be great.

You do need to remove the left bag to get to the seat lock, but that's certainly not a deal breaker (i.e. it's a 10 second inconvenience.) Trust me, these panniers are certainly worth it!

I've got the E21s and the SW Motech mounting rack. The bags sit just below keyhole, so you can still remove the seat without removing the bags.

MackDaddy who's sheepskin is that you have and what size is it? After a ride this weekend I am begining to think I might like the ride position of the stock seat with maybe a foam upgrade and a sheepskin.

On the Givi tubular racks are the nubs/protrusions (what the hell are they called???) for the GIVI bags welded on or are they bolted on? You know those round doo-hickeys that the bogs slide onto!

Damn!

Thanks Mackdaddy. SO to end up with a rack face that is totally smooth I would have to grind a tab off - the top one right?

Any pics of a rack around without the bag? I;ve looked and looked.

Thanks. Les

Get the SW-Motech rack, it is smooth. To mount bags, you have to buy an adapter kit that bolts onto the racks.

The SW-Motech racks. The pins and tabs that stick out are part of the givi mounting kit (sold separately)

Sorry Les, I stand corrected. Both bottom "mount pins" that the bags "hook" onto are bolted on. But they'll leave a nub on the tubes if removed (i.e. the tubes will not be smooth.) That, and the male locking part at the top will still be an issue for you as well.

I'll snap some pics of the bare mounts sometime this week.

I already had the bags, they come off my last bike.

The rack and the adapter kit were purchased from twistedthrottle (http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/3696/652/)

They sell givi bags too.

where do you get the rear signal relocation kit from? Are the rear signals only needed to be moved with the e21's? Do they need to be relocated with the v35's??

MackDaddy

Signal relocation kit comes with the PL447 Mono key racks when ordered through Sport Tour. I have no idea if you need them when using PLX cases (V35's.)

Yes they need to relocated with the v35s, and the relocation kit comes with the rack.
