Anyone know of a manufacturer that makes riding boots in widths? I have very wide feet and riding boots appear to be like running shoes and come in D width only.

Here is a site that offers an excellent quality boots. I would have bought a pair of these, but they were not available in narrow widths. They do offer an "E" width:

Boots are like a lot of things that you get what you paid for. I'm a fan of buying the best protective gear I can afford. I've visited people in the hospital and that isn't the best time to have a discussion about cheap gear.

Agreed...just getting eaten up with $300-$400 stuff...seats, bags, jackets, boots...the bike was cheap compared to everything that I think I have to have now.

I just ordered a pair of these. One reviewer said they were a bit wide (sixth review down) so maybe they would work for you?

+1 on getting really good boots. I had a dope crash into me at a trackday and he broke my tibia/fibula. I had some cheap Joe Rocket boots and they offered very little protection. Now I have Oxtar TCS boots (I think the company is just called TCS now).

I tried on some Alpine Stars and they felt good, so I assume they make theirs fairly wide. They should be in next week.

I have a D to E width foot and the Sidi B2s fit well as do the Alpinestars.

I just look for a boot that covers the ankles, is comfortable and waterproof.

I take a 10E and bought the Alpinestars SMX ventilated boots in euro size 45. They fit really well.

My old alpinestars from '92-94 or so were very narrow boots that used to be horribly tight on the toes and ball of the foot - the new ones are much wider.

Hope it helps

I just got my Alpine Star Web Goretex boots. They are tighter than the ones I tried on in the store. Anyone know if these things will stretch?

I think I figured out why the ones at the store fit. It appears that they might not have had the foam padding in the sole. I pulled it out of my new boots and they fit the way they did at the store. Now I just need to find something thin to put in the bottom. The fabric in the bottom doesn't look like it would hold up without the padding. Since I don't plan to do much walking in them thin padding shouldn't be a problem.

I didn't mention these before because you aren't able to specify widths, but I think they do have inserts.

They're made by Sidi for Aerostich.

I wear the "lite" version and have no complaints.

They're also free of logo spam - they're just good plain sturdy boots.

Thanks for all of the ideas. I got the Alpine Star Web Gortex boots and once I replaced the inserts that they included with simple odor eater inserts they fit fine. I actually have a pair of boots that fit, but I would look like a village person if I wore them. I bought them when I thought I was going to buy a HD Sportster 1200, but I am much happier with the V. I like the twisties much better than cruising.

Hi all, I am in the process of buying some decent boots. Not a big selection available in South Africa. I would like to find out if anyone has tried a pair of Diadora GT2 touring boots. They have all the protection but are they comfortable enough to be used for commuting in warm weather? Our summers are wet.
