Alright, current luggage is a 34-liter top box and dry Duffel on the V. This is a little shy of the carrying capacity (tent, bag, tarp, clothes, etc) that I need. I am adding a 28-liter duffel and 9-liter tank panniers.

So my question is, will this be putting too much weight high and on the back? I am planning on moving tire repair kits and other items that are bike related forward and into the tank panniers. Then adding my camera gear into the rear topcase.

I leave in 4 weeks for a week long trip, and I do not have the money for side racks/panniers at this time.

Here's what my KLR looked like loaded up for Alaska last summer. The duffel carries my tent, sleeping bag and mat, plus a bit. No handling problems.

Luckily this time I am only going to Southern Indiana and then back up and around Lake Michigan. But yeah, I shouldn't look nearly as packed as you do. Thanks for the reply.

Oh and I hope to do Alaska in a few years, if all goes right.

I guess if you perfectly put it in the perfect place that will do as long as it doesn't cause so much damage in your bike or you are comfortable and can handle it.
