This is our 1st Versys group ride here in Los Angeles (So Cal) area.

There are about 5 Versys owners that will be riding Angeles Crest Highway 2 in North Los Angeles this coming Sunday May 16... If you are planning to join us... Please respond here!

BTW, the main entrance to Highway 2 is closed... Shhhh... We know another way in... :)

I'm still a tentative. From the previous thread I thought it was a Malibu canyon run. LA Crest hiway is okay too. Will see if I can get a kitchen pass. Been dying to put some miles on my bike, have had it 6 months and it has 350 miles on it!

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe for those of us traveling from Orange county we can split from the group when it's time to head home and take the 15.

Depends on how many of us are going... We can always split 2, 3 group at end of trip...

I was planning to take u guys all the way to the "Tree" on Angeles forest highway, and turn around to newcomb... Route to tunnel and Wrightwood is in very bad shape... Lots of rocks, sands, mud on the road when I rode there last Wednesday... I also heard road after tunnel to Wrightwood is not open yet...

Depends on how many of us, we can decided which way to go when we gather... I am very flexible... :)

So, looks like so far we only got 2 and may be 3 Versys riders??? Where is everyone else in So. Cal??? Versys are meant to be ridden, not just going to Starbucks... :)

Would leave about 9am from Orange/Placentia. Up the 57 to 210, to La Canada.

Looks like there will be 3, 4 of us (Versys)... I had a few other friends to join us for the ride... Hope okay with you guys. We will go in front or behind them, however you guys want it... :)

I will see you guys at the ACH shell at 10am... Can't wait for this ride !!! :D

We ended up with about 18 riders, some sport bikes too. Not too fast, and not too slow, I think a great time was had by all.

Put about 200 miles on, all told. Bike ran like a champ. I'm now up to 600 miles - whoohoo!!

When we got to the top of the Angeles Crest Hiway there was a rescue chopper that had dropped a paramedic for a rider than went off the road on his Hyabusa. Heard the guy only broke his collarbone. From the looks of the wrecked bike in the back of a pickup, I'd say he was lucky to be alive.

We also had a stop by officer friendly. We had pulled off the hiway for a breather and to split up at the end of the ride. A motorcycle hiway patrol made a u-turn and stopped and got off. Comes up and says "I need to give you all a parking ticket - there's no stopping on this road for the next 25 miles.". What a dick. Why do these guys need to come off like that? He could have just as easily said, "hey guys, you can't stop here, it's too dangerous, you need to keep going." Oh well, at least he finally did just send us on our way.

Was really neat to put faces to names and forum handles. Nice bunch of riders, for sure.
