Hello to you all..

Bought a versys (Black) about 1 month ago,
started on my license last week, so i'll be finished with that in about 1 month.
Been riding it alot since then (We can "practice" drive if the person on the back has had his license for 5 years.)

I've been riding scooters and 4wheelers until now, decided that it was time to upgrade a bit :)

Going to ride all year round..
I refuse to get a car.
A little exited for when the winter arrives again.
But i guess it'll go well.

Anyone of you tried it on snow? how is it?
I really like the handling on gravel.. so i hope it is simmilar on the snow.

It's great to have you with us here on the forum! I've never been to Norway, so it would be great to see some photos of the places where you ride.

I'm not sure how the Versys would handle on snow, but I gave up riding on snow back in the 1960s. I was living in the high country of Colorado (a western state here in the US that is bisected by the Rocky Mountains) and riding a Kawasaki Bighorn (a 350cc, single cylinder, do-everything-go-anywhere machine). I managed to get it through a couple of snow days before I learned (rather gently, thank goodness!) that stopping and turning was next to impossible. The big problem was not the freshly fallen snow, which simply packed down beneath the tire treads and could be ridden at reasonable speeds. It was the packed slick snow and (shudder!) the icy patches. At that time, I had fairly quick reactions and an athlete's balance and strength . . . but that meant nothing when the bike snapped out from under me quicker than an eyeblink!

So, if there's snow involved, you'll find me on no less than three wheels . . . . although it does look like fun to ride on ice, using tires studded with nails/spikes, in a chilly imitation of dirt track racing.

Let us know how your licensing exam turns out. I'm sure you'll be successful. I'm looking forward to hearing about your rides and your Versys. Again, welcome to the group!

Peace,
Kevin

Yeah, i know what snow you mean, and that's damn tough to ride on,
but i think i'll manage, conditions are only really bad for a couple of days a year, the rest of the time it should be OK. they salt the roads, and are usually good at plowing all the snow away from the mainroads.

I was going to have 2x more drivinglessons this week, but snow came down, so i've got to wait for a while to continue..

Anyways, really looking forward to it all!
