I bought Nelson Rigg SSC-140 from New Enough. They are 89.99 on there now, but I'm pretty sure I paid closer to $70 two years ago.

Edit: Just looked it up they were $68 in April 2008.

Bought a set of "EMGO" buffalo bags from Shade Tree last year for about $50. Excellent for the money; about as waterproof as anything with seams could be. Not real large but fair sized.

I picked up some Chase Harper Aeropac saddlebags fifteen years ago. They are a bit sun faded, but I still use them. (typically stuffed and overloaded) The current model of such retails at about $150. They are a bit pricier than a lot of what's out there, but I think they might be worth it.
Mine came with rain covers but I have never used them. I have driven for extended periods in absolute downpours on multiple occasions and the bags NEVER leaked a drop. They are made in America (California). They come with a lifetime guarantee that even covers owner stupidity/negligence.

I found some Fieldsheer conture saddlebags on e-bay a few months ago for $49.95 new in the box. Started fitting them this week.

Check out Newenough.com. They have Nelson Rigg CL-1000 bags for under $65. I don't own them but my friend has the CL-900 bags (they are under $75) and they worked well on his R1.

Bought these great bags but i'm not a fan of saddle bags on the versys gave them to my brother for his honda cruiser. I went with a Givi V-46 Top Case and Cortech Tail Bag. Like the look better and have plenty of storage

I ended up with these bags from my local dealer where i bought my bike. I get a discount if i buy stuff there because of my V purchase.

I paid 120 out the door. No shipping to wait for and instant gratification! I also got to fit them to a Green V in the store, just like my bike at home! Its cold and raining here, not good riding weather today, so i had to use the store model. I like the features, decent bags.

Thanks for the help guys.

Those look like they will work well. Let us know and post pictures of them on the V if you can.

ortlieb QRL dry bags. $100 each from aerostitch. they really are dry, they really are quick release and they really hold a lot of stuff. i commute rain or shine and in south east texas you don't go for a long ride without at least a little rain. they are hanging on sw-motech quick lock side carriers $225 from twisted throttle. i can transform from commuter to sport bike in about 5 minutes with a coin. one pic is kinda fuzzy but i have my riding pants and two jacket layers in the left bag and a rain suit and full tool kit in the right. and they look empty. all the straps are fully cinched.

hello,

I have the Nelson Riggs mini saddlebags. I've had them for about a month now, and don't regret getting these high quality bags. Easy to set up the mounting, take on and off, etc. Also, I believe Nelson Riggs offers an awesome warranty on these. I've been told they warrant them for life, but I haven't seen anything to prove that. On the tags and info that come with the bags, it doesn't state a specified time for the warranty. Paid about 105 for them. Good luck!! :thumb:

My understanding is they are lifetime as well. That is one of the reasons I bought them.
