After nearly a year on the forum and 700 plus posts, I still have a question! Ironically, I can't search for the post that answers it!

When I try to drudge up a post, I get pages of wrong answers. For example, I just Searched threads in the General Discussions(don't know if that matters, it shouldn't) forum for "Good Morning!" and I am relatively sure that is correct, but even if it is not exact, it should bring it up. I would expect to see threads with Good, or Morning, but get seemingly everything else but that. What is up with that?

Here is the result of my Good Morning search: I see the Good Morning! on there, but it is way down the list!

If you really have a 'good morning' issues here are few hits:
http://www.kawasakiversys.com/forums/search.php?searchid=445316

There is a tab (under 'keyword' tab) that lets you select searching either thread titles or entire content for keywords.

:D

Ride on.

I am talking about a keyword search under threads. I don't get the sorting process I guess. Just know the Search is not helpful for finding threads IMHO.

search under vBulletin has always been iffy in my experience

one thign you could try is a google search for say
kawasakiversys "good morning" element

the " IIRC tells the search engine to group the two words together

it has an additional bonus in that this forum's db server doesn't get hit whilst doing the search so other users aren't affected. it may be that this isn't a problem on this forum, but it is a known issue with he big forums using vBulletin

Thanks healdem, but you "passed me in both lanes" as a friend of mine says. Anyway, I found a way that works for me, so I wanted to pass it on to other idiots like me! JK
1 Under Search, click Advanced search
2 In Advanced Search, the top left box, click Search by Keyword
3 Below that click Search Titles Only
4 Enter (ONLY ONE) key word, use one that seems to best fit your title, for example, for Heading South Until the Road Ends, I used "South"
5 Click Search Now.

This has worked for me. goodluck:
