Enemy Zero 03-07-2008, 12:52 AM Figure I'd add this one. My favorite color is Green and I would have loved to get a green Versys, but I'm scared they'll screw it up with California Emissions crap so I bought the '08 in red (I wouldn't care if it was a mix of pink and orange to tell the truth, the bike rides TOO D@MN GOOD)

I gotta admit, this color is sexy.
patiodadio 03-08-2008, 08:02 PM Wow , I wish we could get a Green one !:D
Enemy Zero 03-09-2008, 11:41 AM Here's a picture of the Blue from Europe

deseraligears 04-11-2008, 05:00 PM I am confused all I have seen at the dealer is Red are the other colours in Europe only Black, Yellow. Be nice to have a choice.
cr0w3 05-25-2008, 03:09 AM Green is the only colour for the versys in Australia and it has taken some time to get to liking it for me being team red for many moons. But i have to say other than black the green does look the sexiest..
deseraligears 05-25-2008, 04:28 PM thanks appriciate the help
Shawn 06-12-2008, 06:38 AM In South Africa we get them in blue , green and black , all look sweet .
Only thing i would have prefered was silver rims as all ours have black rims .
edthe 06-12-2008, 03:29 PM in Canada the 2007 year had 2 colours black and a burnt orange, the 2008 year has 2 colours red and blue
i have the black with silver rims, i would like black ones
Lucifer 07-02-2008, 05:26 PM I bought mine 29/06/2008.

deseraligears 07-03-2008, 08:06 AM man that looks great!!! Did you upgrade the windscreen and seat? how do you like it????
Ocean 07-03-2008, 10:21 AM Lucifer - does that say 'ABS' on the front fender? Ugh! Why can't they deliver the same bike to all locations. Kawi has to piecemeal the delivery. That green is sweet and having the matching luggage just makes it +1. I'm definitely getting my side panels on the luggage repainted.
Nice bike. Very nice.
Lucifer 07-03-2008, 11:26 AM man that looks great!!! Did you upgrade the windscreen and seat? how do you like it????
I bought the Versys like it was in the showroom ;).
It's a special version over here, with the bags, lowered gel seat, vario windscreen, ABS
It's called a Kawasaki Versys Traveller.
The parts are original accesoires from kawasaki.
You can find them here on the Belgian website from kawasaki:
http://www.kawasaki.be/nl/product.asp?Id=340445DF773&Sub=5
The windscreen is adjustable in height so you catch less wind.
The lowered gel seat (there's also a raised gel seat) sits very comfortable. Also the words "versys" in the seat completes it :thumb:. I also get my 2 feet better on the ground because of the height of the bike.
@Ocean Yes it says ABS :thumb:.
The bags are original accesoires for the Versys. It got the Versys logo on the side of the bags.
popster 07-04-2008, 12:24 AM I love the colour matched luggage! I may have to upgrade. I wonder if its available in the blue here in Canuck-land? A little too wide for my taste though.
Ocean 07-04-2008, 07:10 AM They're just color panels and I did see on the Canadian Kawasaki Accessory page that the color panels for the V35 luggage is available in Candy Plasma Blue. But, I think the cost is like $90.00. After I get my hugger and my top bag - and if the financial planets are aligned - I'm just going to have all four pieces repainted candy plasma blue.

paul1149 07-13-2008, 03:43 PM Thanks for all the pics. Lucifer, that green is impressive. Love the black frame, and the pannier accent panels, though the panniers are a bit wide for me.
Why is the American market treated so poorly in comparison?
Thumper 09-16-2008, 10:37 AM Man, it's killing me right now to see how much fun you guys are having on the Versys. It really appeals to me. I am an avid distance rider and the Versys appears to fall into a niche all its own. I just gotta get one SOON!
I've got the SO convinced I need another bike in the stable so it won't be long.
Anyone want to trade their versys for a Russian Ural? Did not think so.
Enjoying the forum posts.
Lucifer 09-16-2008, 02:27 PM It's a great motorcycle. Almost got 3000 km now :thumb:. Got no complaints :thumb:.
Going to look for a GPS for it, but don't know what to take. Popular GPS systems here are TomTom and Garmin.
Darth Lefty 09-16-2008, 02:36 PM Anyone want to trade their versys for a Russian Ural?
That depends, is it the deluxe 2wd sidecar model?
Thumper 09-16-2008, 03:02 PM No, its the Retro. She draws a ton of attention but the wife says one bike must go. I am going to list her on Ebay probably. Just don't need a bike that does not get used much. The 2WD is also nice but who has the room for a sidecar in the garage? Not me.
Then I can look for that Versys. 2009 in Black would be cool but I don't see that happening here in the states.
Darth Lefty 09-16-2008, 06:47 PM So sell the sidecar. :D
layfju 09-16-2008, 09:27 PM 2009 Black? It better happen here in the states! I guess a green one would be ok as well. I guess we will all find out this weekend after the Kawasaki dealer meetings. Fingers are crossed!

Me too! I'm a recovering IBA rider. I'll be trading in my K1200 for the Versys. Anyone plumb a fuel cell for this bike yet?

IBA member also #23562
Not sure where you could add the cell on the Versys.
I don't know if I would use this one for an Ironbutt or my FJR1300. The Versys has great greater off-road prowess from what I am hearing, so it might be better on some roads, easier to handle in tight spots and runs strong in the mid-range. The FJR has proven itself for the long run and is very fast and comfortable, but strictly a pavement queen. Either way, I like what I see with the Versys.
I may be talking to a Dealer this weekend about a 2008 on the floor. Now, Red over the possibility of Black?
