Hi everyone,

I have been looking at the Versys since it came out in Canada and was excited to see it being brought into the US. I have an aversion to buying bikes new so I thought I'd have to wait until next fall before seeing anytrhing used out on the market, however, happily I found a 2008 Versys in great shape with only 3300 miles on it from a Dallas Ducati dealer for only $5,000.

I jumped on it and will be flying up to Dallas on Tuesday to pick it up and ride it home!! :yeahsmile:

I look forward to the Versys replacing my Honda XR650L as my daily commuter (approx. 60 miles a day), especially in the winter (with the half fairing and screen).

I am also looking forward to getting to know other Versys owners and getting together on the road.

Congrats! I saw that one on ebay, I knew someone was going to get a steal on it. Glad it's someone here. :thumb::thumb:

I hope it's a good deal, it is still under warranty until 12/20/08 and it should give me good service for the next few years.

Here in the Rio Grande Valley the riding season slows down in the summer as it is just brutal on the road in the high humidity and heat, however as I usually go into work around 6:00am and return around 7:30pm, I miss the worst of the the heat.

Although I am excited about riding the bike down from Dallas on Tuesday, I am not excited about riding in the Texas heat.:teetertooter:

I Saw That On Ebay Too And Was Wondering What It Went For. I Never Heard Of A Versys Before And Had My Sights On A Klr. Loved The Klr Until I Sat On It And Couldn't Reached The Ground. Told The Sales Guy I Liked To Sit Up Right And He Showed Me A Picture. I Fell In Love With It With Out Even Touching It. The Sales Guy Could Not Even Find One. I Searched The Net All Over Florida And Everybody That Had One Adv. Didn't Have One. Finally I Found One In Ocala Fla. Bought It The Next Day. Paid 8k Out The Door With 2 Hats. I Was Happy. You Know How It Is. Let The Good Times Roll.

I looked at the KLR as well to replace my XR650L but after reading about the Versys I changed my mind. Although the KLR has better protection and off-road capabilities, it still seemed very dated compared to the fresh cool looks of the Versys. They should have put the 650 twin in the KLR, then they would have a great adventure bike!!
