Hi all, I have a very new Versys with just over 100 KM on the odometer, in this time I noticed my front end wasn't as compliant over the smaller ripples and broken pavement as I felt forks of this pedigree should feel.
So I simply slackened off the axle pinch-bolt at the bottom of the right fork leg and observed about 1mm of movement as the fork sprang into alignment! I checked my axle's torque, worked the suspension through the stroke a few times, then re-torqued the pinch bolt. Correct torque on this bolt is important for front end rigidity as the axle acts as a part of the fork stiffening setup, very much like a fork-brace.
It feels much better.:thumb: MY seals and bushings will live longer too!!:thumb::thumb:
The usual warnings apply... If you aren't comfortable with your skills let an expert help.
Enjoy!
