Weather forecast looks promising for the weekend. Right now I have both days open, so who wants to ride up Windy Ridge (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=&daddr=46.249971,-122.136726&geocode=&hl=en&mra=dme&mrcr=0&mrsp=1&sz=14&sll=46.248962,-122.122393&sspn=0.034366,0.062399&ie=UTF8&ll=46.295951,-122.090034&spn=0.137346,0.249596&z=12)?

As usual, we could meet in Randle (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=46.535066,-121.957567&daddr=46.249971,-122.136726&hl=en&geocode=%3BFfO3wQIdale4-A&mra=mi&mrsp=0&sz=17&sll=46.53482,-121.957566&sspn=0.004273,0.0078&ie=UTF8&ll=46.491774,-122.082825&spn=0.547413,0.998383&z=10) for lunch first, that is a good place to meet for those coming from the north with us southerners, but we have to make sure Machog doesn't have some lame excuse to bail after lunch again... ;)

I am actually looking at going to Neah Bay on Saturday since the weather forecast is holding up.

Good news, I'm going to be in Hillsborrito this weekend...............bad news I'll be in the cage. Coming down for a friends surprise Bday party (not Bob Gustavo), so won't be able to make it.

Have a great ride. I'm sure alvis with his new heated gear could make it down, or up or wherever you end up.

Hmmm...that would be a good electric gear test, which happens to be working out REALLY good so far :thumb:

Will ping flight control, just went 2 weeks ago so could be dicey...

I am most certainingly out, I have three other bikes at the moment that I am leading out to Neah Bay. Hopefully their will be a time soon that I can meet ya Gustavo, as well as finally ride down to Windy Ridge. I have done that side of St Helens from Randle to Stevenson and it was one of more favorite runs thus far in the state, but then again, this will also be the first time I take my V out to Neah Bay.

Thanks for the invite, Gustavo - but I am afraid I am out due to a mechanical. Getting alot of grinding/rubbing noise, some clunks from the chain/sprocket area, having trouble keeping the chaim adjusted, some jerkiness/hesistaion so am guessing a new chain and sprocket are needed. Over 15,000mi, riding in most weather, and our little sand journey in the N. Cascades taking their toll I think. Still riding it for commuting but figure long trips are out untill I get it fixed next week. Damn. Missed Windy Ridge last time too.

Grinding not good...may be time for a chain. I would pop the cover off of the output shaft and see what's going on in there...

So far you haven't missed anything because it seems like no one had time this weekend. I'll take the DRZ out to play in the dirt instead.

We'll see what next weekend looks like, but it's getting rather chilly at the higher elevations. I had a business meeting at the coast yesterday, so I took the bike across some small roads in the coastal range and used my electric gear most of the way.

I had 34 on my home weather station Wed am...I'm sure the freeze is close...maybe a ride to the coast if we get some high pressure. Raymond again for Mexican?

Have fun in the dust...not much came out of the filter after the Concunully logging trail ride. It was new when I left on that trip...

So I ran out to Neah Bay yesterday, which was great run (save the Stater), but as I rode into Sequim going out to Neah Bay we passed a troupe of riders, one of which was a Black Versys. Curious if you guys know who that is. Curious also, I thought there wasn't a black V relased in the states.

Could be a Canadian bike. IIRC, there were black Versys at least in two model years in the Canadian market.

Below freezing when I left Bald Peak-Hillsboro OR today for the 'drive' back to SEA.

DW, if you need help changing out your chain and sprockets, I have impact, torque, 2 x paddock stands etc and of course lots of time!! (Even more time now the boat didn't pass structural inspection and I have to start again:( )

Probably a load of sand still in there somewhere!

More of an intermittent "light growling" rather than "grinding". Pretty sure it's the chain, ect?

Thanks for the offer of help, John and Al. I am thinking about having the shop do it and the major service/valve check, etc at the same time - but I' REALLY appreciate your offer and will take you up on it if I decide not to spend the $ for the service.

Now... where would all of that sand come from?

You guys are great. Maybe as riding gets less frequnt we should get together for dinner one of these days.

+1 Another ride before the "freeze" sets in sounds like a great idea.

Perhaps we should start planning a weekend for this trip, or to another destination. I didn't go last time, but part of the way to get too Raymond involves WA-6, which I haven't been on quite yet.

OK, so is there interest in a ride to lunch this weekend? Should we start another thread so people don't ignore it due to the title?

The Mexican place we met at last time is good for me. Any interest for this coming Sunday (10/18)?

See this post for the proposed location (http://www.kawasakiversys.com/forums/showpost.php?p=36047&postcount=20).

Sorry gentlemen, can't make this Sun, have an early BBQ. Plus weather is looking really crappy.

Next Sat or Sun 24/25 are good for me if weather will cooperate-i.e. stop raining quite so hard. Its been pissing down here for last 24 and is supposed to continue over this coming weekend.

Great venue, that place has excellent food.

I probably shouldn't do this Sunday, their is a concert I am running A/V for, alongside a Photography expo, and a bunch of homework--basically a lot on my plate already :(.

But alas, should take opportunity of a dry day.

I am at the moment a maybe. If it's dry out for the three hour ride down there, I'll be more inclined on going down :thumb:.

I'll start a new thread (http://www.kawasakiversys.com/forums/showthread.php?p=55536#post55536)for the Lunch...Gustavo and Mach, when would be a good day for you guys if not this Sunday.
