It seems like we have a lot of ''experienced'' riders on this forum so decided to see what age group was represented here:

Is this in human or dog years? I might have to re-vote. ;)

Well it seems I'm a minority haha. 22 years old here. Been riding motorcycles for 14 years though, does that count?. Great forum guys, I just picked up my Versys 3 days ago and can't get enough of it. I've put a little over 300 miles on since Tuesday just around the city. "Yeah, it's still there" That's what my wife keeps telling me as she catches me peeking out the blinds at it throughout the day lol.:D

that might be the next poll, # of years riding....I suspect the versys will be popular both with people who are tired of sport bikes and with people wanting to get back into riding

I am 63 and have been riding for over 45 years. I have been riding Honda ST1300 for the past couple of years. It's a great bike, but very heavy. Just bought my '08 Versys yesterday as an alternate bike. I love it so far.

Seems to be a heavy bias to the forty somethings. I've been riding for three years unless you count the 2 years I spent on a moped back in the 80's then I've got five for that one.

49, will be 50 soon. Started riding at 45 and the Versys is my 4th bike, 04 HD Sportster 1200C, 05 HD Road King Classic, 07 Honda ST 1300 and now the Versys. At this rate I'll be on a mini-bike when I retire???? Actually I wanted to keep each one of them put I was over-ruled. Next time I think the Versys will stay and I most likely will go the Sport Touring route again but for now this things is a kick!

40 here, been riding and wrenching on dirt since 12 and street (mopeds/streetbikes) since I was 14. Took a couple years off starting when I was 16 (because I had a bad accident) and another switch back to strictly dirt riding for a couple years (scared off the street) and then no riding (realized the dirt was going to kill me sooner) for a few years prior to buying the V' and a Hypermotard this past spring. When people ask about suddenly owning the bikes I just tell them I'm having a mid-life crisis, and I'm planning on extending it indefinitely #8-}

25 plus shipping and handling here, I have had my V for 33 days and have 2100 miles on it already. I ride it to work and have gone on some small trips here and there. Oh and I have only had my license for 35 days.

55 here, Rode MCs from 1971 till about 1985. Bought my V in June as my re-entry bike. I've been traveling, or I would have much more on it than the 2500 miles I've put on so far. I think some of the reviewers said it best when they said the Versys is a great bike for veteran riders and newbies alike.

I am 48 years old and my mortgage is 47 years past due . Hard to say really how many years I have been riding . I have held a motorcycle lisence for over 30 years , but did not own ( but rode some ) for about 13 or more years .
The bikes I rode in the old days were extremely fast and dangerous considering all the manufacturers built for was speed . Suspensions sucked the egg , but those machines would fly . It is a wonder I am alive from it . Much more of a modest sight seer these days by all means . LOL

[QUOTE=pinnick85;3771] ...."I've put a little over 300 miles on since Tuesday just around the city.".......

Is that the bustling metropolis of Texoma City? :huh: :D Sorry, that was cheap. I couldn't help myself.

Anyway, yes, I'd say at 22 you're in the minority at least for this forum. Me? I'm 45. I rode many moons ago in California where I was born and raised. When I moved to Texas in 1989, I didn't get the endorsement, and just got back into riding over the last year. My V is my present/reward for going through two back surgeries in a span of 18 months. I'm a little over a year since my last surgery, and I'm not prefect, but I'm doing ok. I just figured what the hell, life is short and my back is probably not ever going to be any better than it is right now. I don't want to regret not doing what makes me happy and is within my power to do. So, bad back or not, I'm a riding fool until I can no longer do it!!

I am 20 years old the versys is my second bike my first I got last year a 1983 BMW R100RS. I use to ride on the back with my dad on his BMW K75. But now we both ride he rides a r1200rt and I ride the versys. I love riding and riding safely no stupid things like wheelies or anything like that. My next bike I hope to get is a F800GS. Right now I am happy with two bikes.

Welcome to the riding world Versysred . What area of the world do you reside . I am always looking for the milder rider to run with . Most guys blow me away these days . We have a good group here in North Carolina for riding buds for sure . You and dad should join us . If not in NC , you need to plan a trip to some of the best mountain riding in the USA .
