Just an inquiry. Weather is supposed to be so-so before noon on Saturday, but could ride after that, kind've want to head up to Hurricane Ridge, which has new pavement, or do a loop about the hood canal.

Ah...pun in the title was not meant, but I leave it there for kicks and giggles :thumb:.

Here's the poop, curiosity of Mac...

Just a reminder. In just two weekends, the Gerbing's upcoming Customer Appreciation Day will be here. It's on Saturday, Sept. 19th, from 9AM to 3PM.

It's Getting Bigger And Bigger Every Day
This event is getting bigger by the day. It may exceed our incredible event this past spring. We've had chapter after chapter respond, and they're coming. Other riders have seen our ads or been on our website and they're coming, too. We've emailed hundreds of our customers, and have received an incredible response.

Rock, Rock, Rock
The latest news is that in addition to breakfast and the BBQ lunch, in addition to the thousands of dollars in door prizes and to the specially priced closeout products (plus a showroom full of our current products, including Microwire Gloves and Jacket Liners), we're going to have a live DJ playing your favorite classic rock. And, he'll be helping us give away those prizes, including our TWO Grand Prizes!!!

The celebration runs from 9AM until 3PM. You really don't want to miss this one, because all your friends will be here and we're planning on showing everyone a Good time.

Good Food, Good Times. Good Friends
So plan to come on down. The cold weather will be here before you know it, and Gerbing's is the best way to stay warm and ride right. We'll feed you breakfast. We've got prize drawings. We'll feed you lunch. And we'll make sure there's plenty of good music, good food and great people around to make our Customer Appreciation Day live up to its name.

If you're coming in a group, please let us know so we've got plenty of food. We'll see you Saturday, September 19, from 9AM to 3PM.

Actually a very nice ride down to tumwater through the east olympia back roads, a little wet going, but nice coming back...

Didn't save much...full liner on sale $129, gloves full price $169, went for the two channel permanent mount controller full price $119...very nice people, sales guy gave me a free extra hook up wire...I'll probably need more, but it should be a slick setup...I'm hoping to pop the tank next weekend and start drilling holes...I'll photo and start a how I did it thread...warm hands here I come

Also, met some cool bikers there...they enjoyed the versys dirt bike adventure!

I look forward to seeing how that works out. I have some Zeta handguards, but as they can also use the Cycra replacement shields (which are a bit bigger), I am going to get those and install heated grips as well.

Gloves are just too bulky.

Popping the tank and drilling holes-I know you are just pulling my leg..........right, well about popping the tank anyway?

I have the electrical hook up coming out the left side between where the tank ends and the seat begins. I hook the heattroller on my jacket. Decided not to hard-mount it to the flat black plastic next to the steering neck.

2 channel is a nice option, I have one for both, it works out OK.

Can't wait for your first report with warm hands-you'll wonder why you didn't do it years ago.

Cool, I've had the zetas on my bike for a about a year now with the small guards...they work great and keep bug guts off my gloves :D

Yep...time to break the drill out...This mod will take some planning. Lots of wires to route on the dual channel kit...people used to pay me to do that stuff, guess we'll find out if they got their money's worth!

I thought while I'm at it, I might as well pull the tank and wash the logging road dust out of the filter

Yeah, I remember, but the Gerbing controller looks a bit easier to get on the bike...I did some routing tonight, need a couple of extensions, but it should fit well...

As goes this weekend, I am riding out Friday night to Leavenworth and returning Sat. Midday. Anyone wanting to ride is welcome to join.

I was going to see if some of you guys want to get together for the Oktoberfest in Leavenworth. Its happening the first three weekends in October, and I am planning with another guy to go out for the day on Saturday the 3rd. Will prob. leave about 8 or 9 in the morn and find a place to set up day camp so we can just meander around town all day and ride home later.

Al, I need a mental health day-I'm wedding-ed out and we haven't even had the bloody wedding yet. I've got blisters from signing credit cards slips and checks.

I was thinking of riding down to PDX area that weekend to clear my mind, if the weather is tolerable.

Good blast down the freeway will do wonders for me. Talked to G man about meeting for lunch somewhere and then staying down with one of my buddies in Hills burrito.

I'd love to do Oktoberfest, but beer and bikes don't mix for me, couple of beers and I think I can ride like Gustavo!!:forgetit:

are you referring to this weekend or next? for next weekend (the 3rd), I don't know about rooms, you'd have to check that out. I am going early in the day, parking the bike, have a couple beers around lunch, thus being well sober by the afternoon to ride home (in refernce to Mach's comment--which I agree with--I am planning ahead)

This weekend, I am crashing at a relatives palce in Lake Wentachee, so again, I don't know about rooms.

Nope. We have to take care of a couple errands before we head out of town (Kirkland), so we most likely won't leave till four or afterwards (I have no problem leaving a bit later).

My fiancee and I are going to head out over US 2 to get there (incld Ben Howard to avoid the stretch of US 2 form Monroe to Sultan). Saturday they are celebrating the Autumn Festival in Leavenworth, and festivities won't begin till noon. We'll maybe go into town and visit around for a little bit and then head back from there about twoish--give or take. I am thinking of doing Bleweet Pass and Snoqualmie pass the way home (maybe even a side roads between Cle ELum and East, and if time permits, do a quick jaunt to Franklin Falls at the pass).

You're (and anyone else) are more than welcome to come both or one of the segments, spend time in town and what not. I need a break by getting out of town. For accomdations, its supposed to be dry out so there is always Lk Wenatchee St PK or I believe there is a KOA in the area as well; and of course, the numerous hotels, motels, and B&Bs that are in town.

I'll check back periodically tonight to see what time you want to head out. Again, I am flexible, as long its not to late. Good meet up would be the P-R off exit 17 405.

Cool, I'm downtown so the P-R is just 5 mins north or so. I should be able to make it a bit after 4. That would give us 3 hrs of light...

I'm hunting for a room now...I'll post if I can find something...

So Al sorry I in a manner of minutes took off. Once we passed civilisation I had I ran a rather spirited pace up and down the pass :o--love the sweeping turns. Hope Wenatchee was good and you made it back in your expected time frame. It was great to meet you , and looking forward to another ride.

No worries Mike. I figured you and Anna would want to get to your relatives place sooner than later...it was cooling down pretty quick up high. Coming down, it warmed up a lot near Leavensworth and I made it to Wenatchee easy.

I had a great ride back in the morning and got to run Ben Howard hard on the way back.
