Richard 08-30-2009, 02:27 PM Muskie, looks like a great ride, haven't done Grey - Bruce yet and the summers almost over. Count me in. Richard S., Waterloo
Dave E 08-30-2009, 04:12 PM Sounds like it would be a great ride, it is just to far west of me to join up for the ride. Besides I will be working up north that weekend :(
Dr.Das 08-30-2009, 07:49 PM Keep us posted!! As of now I'm in BUT the wife has "tentitive" plans. I grew up in the back window of my parents car in that area and still take the family every year camping in Oliphant!
armcphail 08-30-2009, 08:40 PM This sounds like a dream ride since I live in the flat sunny south. Not sure if I can make it, but the Tims makes it even more worth while
armcphail 08-30-2009, 08:45 PM Is this open to other riders I have a friend on a vstrom up that way
muskie 08-31-2009, 07:17 AM Is this open to other riders I have a friend on a vstrom up that way

toocanad 08-31-2009, 08:14 PM Thanks for the invite, unfortunately I can't make it. Maybe next time.
Danaus Plexippus 09-02-2009, 06:44 PM Sounds interesting. I have not explored Grey Bruce too much.
I'm 50:50 (wife and kids).
Will let you know one way or the other before the 19th.
cvienna 09-03-2009, 08:35 AM I'm in.
Thanks,
Colin
ISLANDER1089 09-03-2009, 09:23 AM I was seriously considering joining the ride until yesterday when I broke my ankle dirt biking. That's it for me for the next 6 to 8 weeks whether it's dirt, street or even driving a car (right ankle). Hope you get a good turn out.
muskie 09-03-2009, 09:03 PM Hey looking good so far. Between the Versys owners I've heard from both on and off the forum I have 6 YEAS and 4 POSSIBLES.
2 of the yeas are myself and my wife (Hopefully she will have a Versys by then if not she will ride her 650R).
Hope for good weather.

Keep checking this thread if we go on the rain date maybe you can make it??
muskie 09-08-2009, 01:43 PM Great News!
My wifes green versys will be ready for pickup on Thursday. 200 klicks each way hope for good weather.
muskie 09-10-2009, 10:34 PM My wife and I rode to London today and traded her 08 Green Ninja on a 09 Green Versys. 350 klick round trip, by far our longest 1 day ride to date.
We now have Versi (is that the plural??) in the garage.
This will be better for the VOMIT ride as war (my wifes internet alias) is a good lead rider and we simply could not let a 650R lead the way. My wifes alias is her initials (many people ask her why she writes WAR on documents) .
Hope the good weather holds.
furley 09-12-2009, 05:57 AM I'm a maybe, might just ride up to meet at Timmies, but would only be able to stay for 1/2 an hour or so, so I wouldn't be able to go on a ride. Too much going on that day.

I'll try to make it on the 19th Muskie. It would be great to meet all the V riders.
onewizard 09-13-2009, 06:10 PM I am thinking about it, I am in Kitchener, but need to go in to work early Sunday. A meeting place a little further south would make it easier.

Why don't you PM Richard (see page 1) and ride up from K/W with him or one of the other Southern riders.

randydesjardins 09-19-2009, 05:31 PM Muskie,
Thanks for organizing the VOMIT Group Ride today. It was a great trip and nice to meet everyone.:D
Richard 09-19-2009, 06:20 PM Muskie, Thanks for organizining the ride today and also for arranging the nice sunny day, great to meet the other V riders from SW Ontario. Arrived back in Waterloo at 6;15, 430 kms logged on the speedo.
muskie 09-19-2009, 06:32 PM Thanks to everyone who made the trip today.
It was great to meet everyone.
A bit of a cold start but simply a lovely day in the Greater Bruce/Grey area. After Introductions and photo ops at Timmies furley bade us farewell and we commenced touring Walkerton for gogo juice (Honest the tire place used to be a gas station).
Next was a stop at my house to donn the sweaters we doffed in Walkerton (the original plan for the stop was to shed gear but as we neared the Lake it got colder).
On thru Port, South and up to Sauble Beach. Bob's BBQ was located after the first restaurant was reserved for a wedding and the second was not yet open. Excellent lunches of BBQ pork and chicken was enjoyed by all.
We then toured over to the Georgian Bay side of the penninsula thru Wiarton and Big Bay. A stop at a scenic lookout near Cobble Beach then on to Owen Sound.
Gas up at Springmount, down thru Markdale one last stop at Tim's in Durham and the group split up for the rides home.
Thanks again to all who came.
A special thanks to Richard who I believe played sweeper all day.
cvienna 09-19-2009, 07:48 PM Thanks for a great day Muskie. It was a pleasure to meet to everyone. There are some great roads up there. I am looking forward to next years ride.
Cheers,
Colin

Great to hear you had a good time!
It was a treat to meet you and your friends.
Next year we will do an early summer trip with more daylight and WARMTH!
Glad you guys had a safe home.
muskie 09-19-2009, 11:11 PM Hey Colin,
war say's she dosn't remember your signals at all today and I got to thinking "Didn't Colin mention his horn was intermittent?".
Perhaps you have a bad connection my friend.

First, thanks Muskie for organizing the group ride. It was great to meet some fellow Versys riders. A nice choice meeting place, route and lunch destination too. Well done.
Colin, I meant to comment on you signals as well. The integrated after market signals look great, and your's do work, its just that they are really hard to see. Take a look in your driveway from 20 meters or more (in day light and from different sun angles). Someone following you may not see them.

cvienna 09-22-2009, 06:22 AM Thanks guys, I am looking for a device to have the brake light flash at the same time as the signal light. I am a little more focused on how to wire up a relay, horn and an accessory power bus, as well as searching for a local source.
Cheers,
Colin
muskie 05-09-2010, 11:38 AM Hey Guys,
