Hey All,

Has anyone purchased or have a Vega V-tune (http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/1/38/19890/ITEM/Vega-V-Tune-Rock-On-Bluetooth-Helmet.aspx?SiteID=CSE_GBase_038&WT.mc_ID=80003&zmam=88421133&zmas=1&zmac=2&zmap=19890) bluetooth helmet. If you have, lets hear about it. My local Motosport shop has these on sale for $179.00. Im gonna check it out for size and fit for now. I currently have a scorpion that I love but I thaught this would be good for long rides could stream the music off my phone.:interesting:Im not worried about the phone part so much.

I have had mine for a few weeks now. I have an oval shaped head and this is the only one that fit me beside the $500.00 Arai. The bluetoothed paired with my blackberry curve quickly without much fuss. Music sounds great through the headphones, defininly not a Bose system, but they worked good. I tested out the phone feature and the people on the other end could he me just fine without much issue except I sounded a bit muffled. All in all, this seems to be a great buy, especially in the $200.00 price range.

What is the airflow like? How noisy/quiet is it without the music?

where you able to stream music of you Black Berry?

Airflow is good through the mouth and top of the head. I don't have hair so my judement is a bit slanted towards the hair challeged. With visor open, it can be pretty noisy ofcourse at 50mph or higher, but the music can be heard regardless.

I have it connected to my blackberry curve with using the music application on my phone. I have not encountered any issues with the pairing.

After browsing around a bit, I still can't find anything that says that it's a stereo Bluetooth unit. So I'm guessing that this is a mono tunes helmet with two speakers?

Hey Peter-

I just listened to music on my blackberry curve and the music did in fact come in stereo.

Sounds pretty good to me.

Ok I initially had a minor issue with the helmet being once I paired it up to my Samsung Omnia i910 after I got off the bike for a while and turned the bluetooth off on the helmet and came back to put it on later it would only pair to the hands free and and not the stereo. So I took it back to the shop and swapped it out for another one I actually got a smaller( they run b little big I wear a 2XL in a scorpion) size from a XL down to a L the Large was a better fit. I got it home and it did the same thing. So I contacted Vega and they got right back to me( I was impressed how quick the response time) They said they had not seen this issue before, they have had some minor issues with the IPhone. My phone is PDA Smartphone with windows mobile 6.1 well Verizon had a new update for it so I did the update and bricked my phone. Called and had a new phone shipped with the update and now the pairing issue is resolved. I love the helmet the price is right and the built in flip down visor. The Air flow is good. I didnt get the helmet to use the phone I got it so I could stream my music off of the Phone and that works great. It doesnt blast your ears off but good enough you can hear it and enjoy your favorite tunes. I believe the output depends on the phone and the type of player and Yes it is in stereo. For the price point of the helmet and the features it has I give it a 8. Its comfortable on my head. I got the red Rock on version. Regardless I dig the helmet:thumb:. Im not going to try to answer them phon I just let it go to voicemail. I dont believe its safe trying to take a call while Im riding but thats just me. Over all its really good helmet I would recomend it if you are on a budget and want these type of features. The helmet will also pair to another like helmet. Its stays paired up to about 30 meters or so. If I can give anymore insite on the Helmet let me know..

Cool! Now I need to ask you all with this helmet: Anyone wearing one also wear a Shoei or HJC modular? I believe that I have a roundish head, and if this one is at all oval, then I'm SOL.

The VTunes helmet fits my Alien shaped head and the HJC and Shoei do not fit at all.

I'm pretty happy with it so far. You can only really hear music well enough to make out the lyrics up to 55mph. I wish it went just a hair louder though.

I have an iPhone and it paired up with it just fine. All phone features work great. So far I have only tried it with two different apps, iPod, and Pandora (pandora.com), but both worked great. I'm going to assume that all the other streaming music style apps also work. I also have not tried using the voice dial feature, but if you phone support it then you can press the button and say a name to dial from your phone book.

The helmet is comfortable and the flip down shade works better than it looks. When I first saw the flip down shade I thought it looked a little gimicky, but after using it for two weeks I love it.

The helmet automatically answers calls after 8 seconds so you can answer in incoming call with out ever taking your hand off the grips. Of course if your not taking calls then you will have to use your hand to reject it.

Two problems:
1. The black plate that the is screwed on to the helmet, that the visor attaches to, is not lined up straight so the visor doesn't snap down properly on the left side. I looked to see if it was adjustable, but it is not. It appears that the screw holes on the helmet determine the alignment on the plate. I have to call Vega tomorrow to see about replacing the helmet.

2. The [Next] and [Previous] buttons on the helmet don't work properly. They both rewind the currently playing song by 1 second. I don't know if it is defective helmet issue, or if the helmet simply doesn't work properly with the iPhone. I guess i'll find out tomorrow when I call them. I don't really skip around in my playlist, and I mostly stream music from the internet using the Pandora app so it's not really a deal breaker for me.

I'll try to remember to come back here and give an update on my two problems listed above after I speak with Vega.

Im still loving mine. I tried make a call out(I was parked in a parking lot at the time, was not on the road.) of it to my work cell phone so see how it worked I was just going to the voice mail to hear it and leave test message. Its hard to hear the phone from what I can tell I may have to play with the volume for calling. But the music streaming is great and I still love that part of it. Thats the main reason I got the helmet. No one should be answering calls while riding anyway:thumbdown:. Music volume is good even better with my updated phone. And that flip down visor is way trick..Im gonna call Vega and let them know My issue is resolved maybe they can use the information in the future if some one has the same phone that I have to help them. Still pairs up fine now also no more issues with that as previously posted... Also still have to give Props to Vega Helmets on theirs customer service, they are more than willing to help you in any way possible. The Helmet has a 1 year warrantee on is also and they will replace if there is an issue.

I got mine at my local Motosport shop, the $179.00 it was on sale. I would check your local shop the most you will pay is $229.00 USD thats full retail. You can find them on ebay for that if you search. But I would stick to your local shop if you can so you can try it on they seem to run big. I take a 2XL in a scorpion and in the vega I took a large. Prices Example for the online (http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/1/38/19890/ITEM/Vega-V-Tune-Rock-On-Bluetooth-Helmet.aspx) retailer, and ebay retailer (http://stores.shop.ebay.com/oregonmotorcycle__W0QQ_sacatZoregonmotorcycleQ5fQ5 fW0Q51Q51Q5farmrsQ5A1QQ_sidZ162719815?_nkw=vega+v-tune&submit=Search) price actually the shop I baught mine from. If you search ebay you can find more sizes and prices plush shipping of course. I chose to support the local shop, that way if you have isues you can deal with them directly and see if they will match the online price you might be suprised they might lower it if they are asking the full retail of $229.00.

I just ordered a flat black one. Can't wait to see if it sync's with my Blackberry Storm. Hopefully a bit quieter than my HJC CL-Max. I absolutely love a modular helmet, but until they figure out a way to make them quieter the HJC will be relegated for around town use only.

Should sync up fine, Mine was a issue with the version of ROM on the phone once I got the updated phone with new version of ROM no issue. Also I hope you went to a shop and tried one one they seem to run big. Altleast bigger than Scorpion sizes. Good thing with Vega from talking to them on the phone they stand behind their product.

I have a long (hatchet head, so my friends say) oval head and a 2x HJC CL-Max fits me great. Best fitting helmet ever. So I hope for the same with the Vega. If I end up having to send a few back to get the right one is not a huge deal (pain in the arse for sure) as none of my local dealers even heard of it before. As long as it truly is "oval" shaped, I'm cool with the actual size swapping out BS.

Ok, I got mine, the music syncs just fine with a Blackberry Storm 1. Like others have said, I wish it had a bit more volume and a lot more bass response. That being said, it works for the intended purpose. It is quieter than my HJC CL-Max. However, I wish the shell was a bit longer, as my mouth is about a 1/4 of an inch away from chin guard and I had to sand the forehead area foam a bit to tweak the fit. It fits great now. Only other thing is...where do you stick the microphone?

Mine was loose, just hanging. So my ? is....Do you pull out one of the 2 rubber plugs in the chin bar and install it there? Or do you just find a place for the velcro to stick on? A pic would be very much appreciated.:dgi:

Ok here are a couple pics they are pretty self explanatory since you already have the helmet. The mic is the small round black foam piece obove the left vent, for those who dont have one. Let me know if you have any further questions.:goodluck:

There is a small lever built into the Helmet on the left side of the face shield, right next to the pivot point of the faceshield. Very smooth action no issues I love it flips up and down quickly. I still wear photochomic( changes with sunlight, like transitions) Bobster sunglasses when I ride for safety because I were contacts. They also work well too.:goodluck:
