So asked my neighbor this afternoon. I let it slide, though...I know he didn't intend to insult my V like that... :D

Yeah, better to be asked if it's a Ducati than a vulgar Buell or V-Strom...

I've gotten the comment...is that an Italian bike? I reply...Nope, I only paid 6k...not 15k.

The Ducati thing was because it's red......I was asked if it was a BMW:eek:

The Ducati thing might also be because it has a small resemblance to a Multistrada.

I'll have to say I'm relieved that the V doesn't look like another in a long line of Harleys, out there. Many of my die hard Harley friends are pissed that so many yuppies have made owning one not so special. I'd rather be the one V in a sea of Harleys, than to blend in. Besides, none of em' can catch me without 10K worth of "Screaming Eagle" hop up parts. 25K for a motorcycle....what a joke.

...and that is only if the straight away is several miles long. One curve and its bye bye...;)

Funny you guys brought this up. I was hiring a teacher the other day, and he asked if that was my Ducati parked out back. I politely educated him on the Versys.

I was actually considering getting one of those new Ducati 696 monster that came out this year...I sat on one in the showroom and really liked it...But I got my brand new 07 Versys for $5999 as opposed to $9995 for the Ducati...so the choice was easy.....This Versys is the best bike I have ever owned...:p
