Hey ,
Im from Johannesburg South Africa , had my V now for 2 weeks and just did the first service at 850 km's .

Have owned a couple of bikes , last being a KLR 650 .

Really enjoying the V , use it for work to get through traffic .

Want to take it this weekend on a trackday , to see how it will compare to sport bikes on a track , any of you tried ?

Is there any other South Africans on the forum ?

Welcome!!

Yes there is one other SA that is on here just look in the welcome forum for his thread.

It could be fun on the track it handles well enough but I do not think you are going to drag knee unless something goes horribly wrong.

In the hands of a capable rider the V is perfectly capable of shredding supersports through the corners :D

:welcome:Have taken my 08 Versys on the track 4 times and she is a blast, the only time it is a bit limited is on a long straight but it keeps right up with the best bikes everywhere else.

Welcome.

I would say even a novice V rider handles corners far better than a more experienced rider on a supersports. Observed these traits while on my 1300km journey during the New Year.
