Ok, it kinda looks like a liter Versys. I've read that it's "buzzy". It's been discontinued.
Any experiences here?

I have a Z1000 '07 and i am passing to versys as i want a bike more comfortable for two

I can't understand why you treat versys ONLY as touring bike
Versys is a ''heavy'' super motard, a FUN bike

:cheers:Mine was a blast . everything is buzzzy to some degree. It's gone her because of sales,but still in other markets . It may get a makeover and come back here.

I love the look of the Z. if I was able to get onther bike it would be the Z. Im sure it will return and be even more bad ass.

Yep, it's definitely got potential. I rode with a guy that had one a couple of times & it is a sharp looking bike. His was black. It's very low compared to the Versys, though & the riding position is more leaned over.

I loved this bike and added lots of go fast parts, it was an absolute screamer too. I did a couple track days, but mostly streeted it.

I ended up selling it last year due to the fact that it didn't really suit the type of riding I wanted to do, that my new Versys does. (touring, mild off pavement stuff etc)

The Zed was a very easy bike to misbehave on.:guilty:
The local Roscoe also began really cracking down on "those Damn Crotchrockets" and this had me fearing for my legal right to use public roads and also for my employment.

Nobody bats an eye at a Tall Touring bike with panniers, but The Z with 'er 4 into 1 "closed course only" exhaust would have the fuzz following for miles, just waiting for me to slip up somehow, though the angel I am, I never did.:grinangel:

Whenever I went riding with my full on sportbike equipped friends, the Zed always tended to receive the most attention as it was a bit different looking than the others, while still looking very badass.

If a guy could afford about 5 bikes, I think another Zed would make the list.

When I was shopping for a new bike it ended up being between the V and an 05 Z with about 3K miles, full Akropovich exhaust and a fully tuned PCIII. I rode the V first and was amazed at how comfortable the seating position was for me. Then I rode the Z, I was all smiles and back aches. That thing just new where I wanted to go and that I wanted to get there now. It was a very tough choice, but the fact the the V was more comfortable, new, FI'ed, and much less dangerous for me legally were the deciding factors. There are days though that I almost wish I'd picked up the Z instead.

I had an 03.....didn't like it, it "buzzed" at highway speeds so bad it put my right hand to sleep. I never could get 'comfortable" on it, even with a Corbin seat. Great power, decent handling, but it wasn't for me....everybody's different though.

If I were only going to ride around town, or short rides it probably would have been ok.

rode a used one at the dealer the same day i bought the V. For me The Z was quite a bit lower center. no where near as nimble....fast as heck. realized I would almost always ride faster than I needed. When I brought the front end up about a mile into my test ride on the Versys...that was the bike for me. I did not try that on the Z( since I'm over 40) I thinks it say that in the owners manual on the Z....page 13. " you must be under the age of 40 to ride the Z like you have no mortgage":nono:.....to scarrrrry . But the Z was a sweet lookin bike!
