I'm an avionics/electrician/environmental specialist. I Started on F-111's in the air force, then moved to F-16's. I now fix T-38's & T-1's @ Randolph AFB in Texas as a civilian. I would love to see a few pictures...

I believe Kawasaki was a manufacture of engines for many of the Japanize aircraft. Mitsubishi too Amazing how the WWII engineers still manufactuing motors. Germans still with BMW motocycles. It's a Small worlds after all.

I have an A&P, but haven't worked as one yet. I am also pursuing a degree in aviation.

Kawasaki has manufactured many aircraft (airplanes and helicopters), though many have been under license.

I bought the Versys after deliberating which I would get the most enjoyment and practical use from: finishing my private certificate, or owning a multi-talented bike.
I have not regretted my choice in the slightest!

I'm studying mechanical engineering and aviation is one of the routes I'm considering taking. Oh, and I also have a couple of RC planes: a J3 Cub and a Spitfire (both of them duct taped all around :D)

I considered owning an aircraft, but what I had in mind wasn't cheap. So I figured I could own ONE airplane or MANY motorcycles. I chose the bikes. But I still have an interest in the technical side of aviation.

I have a a lifelong interest in aviation, having grown up in bush Alaska, building and flying rc model aircraft and working as an A and P for American in Tulsa for the last 20 something years. Worked on my Private ticket back before raising kids got in the way. Would like to finish that sometime and build my own replica, probably something in the vintage biplane field. One of my favorites is the Bucker Jungmann, hence my user name.

Dad was a pilot and big in the CAF when I was a kid. I spent a good bit of my youth and a good bit afterwards around airplanes. I never caught the bug, always found more interesting and less expensive ways to spend my time and money. I've got some stick time in some pretty vintage wood and canvas and have gone up in quite a few old warbirds.

Retired from Air Canada (AE340s) 6 years back, and the RCAF 36 years ago (C-130s), total about 20,000 hours. Just rode to Alaska, Inuvik and BC on my KLR with another retired pilot (SAME background, different aircraft) on his. Love airplanes, but motorcycles are WAY more accessible! :goodidea:

I learned to fly two years ago at age 54. I am a Sport Pilot with 500+ hours. I fly an X-air H model with a Jabiru 2200 engine. I'm semi-retired so I fly 2-3 times a week.

I started riding motorcycles when I was 22. I have ridden mostly dirt bikes, usually street legal. Then the kids grew up and I didn't have anyone to ride with so I sold the last bike. I was without a bike for several years and wondered if I would ride it instead of flying. I bought the Versys about 3 weeks ago and now have 500 miles on it. It's my first street bike. I love it. But I still fly whenever I get the chance. I squeeze the bike rides in during my non-flying times.

You beat me to it! I would choose the F-86, also.
Or maybe an A-10. Or an OV-10. Or a P-38. Or a F-5!

I'd settle for a Super Cub or C-180, though!:D

Late to this thread but will add to it. Got my A&P after retiring from county public works job. Worked in general aviation for two years after getting the FAA ticket. Loved it but the old back complained too much so I retired again.

Love the Golden Age planes and the warbirds. Especially the workhorses like
the P40, P47 and Hurricane. Picture is a P51C at Fantacy of Flight near lakeland, Fl. Fantastic Place. Many of the Aircraft are airworthy including the P51C. The owner of this collection flies them off the grass strip right next to the museum. They have daily flight demos. Maddjack I would love to see the restoration photos if you have time.

OK, all you aviation fans. I friend sent me this last week. Can any of you explain this? Is there a story behind this or is it a photochop job?

Perhaps a telephoto lens distorted the dangers here?

I work in the field as a QE. Heavy lift helicotpters. S64 Erickson Sky Crane. (Originally Sikorsky but Jack Erickson bought the type certificate years ago) Web site below. We move really heavy stuff, fight fires, and operate in Canada, (Canadian Aircrane), Italy, Greece, Australia, and Korea as well as the US.

Can't say I'm an aircraft nut, although I do like old warbirds and jump at the chance at seeing any I can.

Wanted to be a surf pro, but I found I had to make money, so I got a job. Work really gets in the way of things I tell ya.

Pmac those Skycranes go back a ways. I saw quite a few working around the Da Nang area in 1968 hauling just about everything. I had a chance to work with a crane when a Vietnamese Airforce Skyraider ditched in the China Sea close to the beach. I dragged it out of the water with a LVTR1 Amtrac retriever. The skycrane came in later and hauled it away.
