I'm looking for a hugger for my rear tire. Some I've seen (Ermax) have integrated hugger/chain guard. I saw a really cool carbon fiber looking one a few weeks back, but can't, for the life of me, find it again. Most look to be found overseas. I'm in USA/Florida, so I'd like to find something in the states. Guess it hard to get these items here, just yet, with the bike being so new to the states. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The gray, hugger with integrated chain guard is made by ErMax. Another Euro deal.

Check out the following link for a US Ermax importer.

I specifically asked about the unpainted hugger and was told that they may have some in stock the third week of March.

At the risk of sounding like a fool, what does a hugger do? I can understand the cosmetic aspect, but, functionally, what does it do for you and/or the bike?

RezRider,

Yes, they do look good!

As well they keep mud from accumulating in a very hard to clean area, and the rectifier on the Vs is very exposed to water if one were riding in wet weather.

The folks in England, wet and rainy, have had a few rectifiers go as a result of wet conditions.

Cheers,

BBM

I’ve been looking at various parts for several weeks. I finally broke down and ordered an Ermax hugger and belly pan yesterday - should be here in about a month (hopefully). I hope they survive the extensive shipping and the quality matches the expense.

I’ll keep you informed.

Skypop, the carbon fiber one you referred to is I believe the one on twinshack.com. I will be calling them early tomorrow,Tuesday,06/10/08,since I am in Florida, and they are in the U.K. I am calling to find out what shipping will be to Fla. The price on the one in question is 90 pounds, which translates to about $180 u.s. I can post what info i gather. ......Lefty.
