So,
Despite having dropped the bike last week I still took the time to install my Hella Supertones which arrived in the mail the same day. They were a breeze to set up (and my left arm wasn't even working too great at the time).
I repainted the red grills black to match the underbody on the Versys. I affixed the two horns to two bolts that hold a bizarre piece of bent sheet metal on the bottom edge of the radiator. A little blue Loctite to hold them steady. The relay is attached to a second hole on the old horn's frame bracket just below the radiator (I've remove the old horn and it's little extension bracket entirely). This made things a lot easier since I didn't have to re-rout the old horn's leads which activate the Hellas' relay. All the wires run behind the fairings and under the tank. 2wires have to go directly from the battery to the relay to power the 66 watt each power hungry horns.
I just went on a short ride and everything is holding steady. The horns sound about as loud as an ocean liner. Honestly, they're just downright unpleasant without a helmet on. Don't hit this one by accident while trying to shut off the turn signal :)
Not that the stock horn is bad at all, but these will get people's attention a lot quicker! Well worth it and less than 100$ overall, wire and plugs included.
