I was wondering how many of you have iPhones or iPod Touches, and if you surf this site on them...

I have an IPod Touch and yesterday I went to a WiFi hotspot in town hoping to upload some photos to my profile on this site. I live in an area that offers only dial-up internet unless you can spring for satellite internet at a cost of $1200 plus $65.00 per month for their slowest package. I went for the satellite but can't seem to get it to upload photos so I thought the Touch would work but it doesn't. It doesn't even offer the same photo upload options as with my Apple Imac at home. I was disappointed because it means I can't share any photos and I love photography. To me the Versys is a thing of beauty (except for the butt ugly headlight) and the candy lime green is amazing when taken with lots of green natural back drops.

First gen iPod Touch (bought before official release :D) and an iPhone 3G.

I used to browse the site on the iPhone, but I finally got hi-speed net at my house, so I don't really go on here with it anymore.

For those of you who may be interested, there is a new iPhone/iPod app that was recently released that allows you to surf vBulletin forums. Most of the primary functions are already there, and they are still asking for suggestions and feedback to make it better. The app costs $2.99 via iTunes. I've been included in the testing since the first beta release and it has come a long way.

This site is part of the Tapatalk network and many vBulletin forums are joining this network everyday as it gains popularity.

I just wanted to pass that on in case anyone wanted to give it a try.

Thanks :thumb:

I was looking at that app, but the low ratings scared me away.

Is it as bad as the reviewers say?

It looks to be in a pre version 1 state, so maybe that is the issue.
I'll probably go ahead and buy it and give my feedback and hope it continues to improve.

The only problem is Apple. There are bugs in every new piece of software, but Apple takes forever to release the updates. The version I am using is already like two versions ahead of what is in the app store because I got it from the development team.

This software can and will only get better, and the development team isn't going to stop until all bugs are fixed and all options are implemented, whether you pay now or later, it will still be the same software and still be $2.99

I did d/l it. It doesn't work with this forum.
I can list the forums, and the message headers, but not the messages
I get an error saying that the "forum you requested is not available at this time."

Login does not work either.

I get an error Not Found
The requested URL /login.php was not found on this server.

So in short, it doesn't work for me

I am posting to the site from my iPhone right now, so I know it works... Let's see if we can't figure out what your problem may be.

Yeah, that's another mod that I added to the site. It detects your phone type and forwards you accordingly. All other mobile user will be directed to a very lightweight template that isn't so..... pretty, but it does the job.

I'm using an iPod Touch that I just upgraded to 3.0.
Is anyone else using 3.0 on a touch or iPhone?

Ok, I'm to blame. I d/l the wrong app. I searched the store for forums and d/l an app by the same name. It was ranked very low. I should have known.

This one works much better!

I am on my third iPhone in three years. New one comes out and I have to get one. My son used to work for Apple so it was easy to switch. No waiting in those lines. I can't take the money with me can I? I haven't tried the app on my new 3Gs yet though. I guess I have to get my act together...

Glad I found this section/thread! I don't have a computer at home and mainly browse/post from my iPhone (once in a while I'll log in from work ~ that's how I uploaded my avatar). I can't find a search feature on the mobile version of this site, and don't see a way to edit my profile. Any tips? It would also be nice to have the ability to go to the full site, however I see above this has been disabled. Any way to bypass? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I have a 3G that I use on the bike with a RAM Mount medium size Aqua Box with their standard motorcycle handlebar mount. Incidentally, Navigon is an excellent GPS app for use by motorcyclists as it lets one specify an arbitrary number of waypoints and has "scenic" and "motorcycle" routing and speed options, respectively.

I see that this thread is half a year old. I'm glad that enough people stated that they use iPhones so that the site admins created an iPhone layout. The iPhone layout comes in handy when looking up a photo on the forum while out wrenching on the V!

I have an iPhone and have not had a good experience. AT&T network stinks where I ride on two wheels and at most of the airports I find myself in, which kind of defeats the value of a mobile device. Battery life...well we all know about that. The Droids I've played with are radically faster and it was an eye opener to me to realize that there are other smart phones out there that work really well, certainly better than my 3G. I also like the idea of having a choice of several manufacturers and form factors rather than which ever iPhone is the latest. I know some people love their Apple products beyond measure, but I'm not one of them. Perhaps what bothers me the most is the Apple product support people whose answer to my various issues (losing contacts, locking SIM, hanging up for no apparent reason) has been "It shouldn't do that" or "You should get an iPhone 4." When my contract is up I expect I'll be going elsewhere.

I just got a Sony Xperia Arc running Andriod 2.3. Quick data rate over the network and linked to wi-fi at home.

Really impressed with it for surfing but the HD video and 10mpx camera are amazing.

The best thing is that now when I go anywhere I can take one item rather than a camera, ipod, satnav and laptop. Fantastic.
