We need your opinion...

To keep up with changes and new features brought to us by vBulletin, we are being forced to update the templates on our site. What we we would like to know from you, the community, is what you would like to see in the new changes.

Please participate in the poll to let us know what you think

Please keep in mind that we do have limitations, and we probably won't be able to make everyone happy... but we'll try our best!

I really like the way the site looks now as far as colors go. Not too bright, not to dark & easy on the eyes. Some sites give the user the ability to change the colors. That would be nice. Of course, I'd keep it the way it is, but others may want different colors.

As far as layout, I believe the left margin is too big. If you could reduce that gap by 50 to 75%, the page would display perfect, pictures & all. As far as link locations (New Posts, User CP & what-not) I like them in easy to get to places, like they are now, so I don't have to scroll around trying to find them.

It would be nice if the 'quick reply' box had smilies. And we need more smilies. And maybe (I know, I'm pushing it) a little bit more 'manly' smilies (especially the thumbs up guy, he's a little too 'soft' for me :D).

Like this: http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g304/Bear_on_a_bicycle/thumb.gif as opposed to this: :thumb:

And this guy: http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g304/Bear_on_a_bicycle/baldy.gif

For the most part, I like it the way it is.

Agree with bear, though... MORE SMILEYS! :D

Thanks!
Nate

OK, so for the most part, you guys want it kept the way it is, just with more smilies. We can do that.

I'll leave this poll up until the weekend to get the active users a chance to vote and share their suggestions and then we'll close it up and start working on things.

One way or another, we will get you more smilies, we just have to make sure that they are within the site's rules... And as for the colors and layout, I think I should be able to make it work without too many people noticing that there were any changes at all, hopefully

+++ on Bear's suggestion. Its a great site works well and the Versys community in the US and overseas couldn't do without it.

I voted that I don't really care either way.
But will say of the many forums I frequent, this is the easiest on the eyes when reading.
I like the contrast.

Moar smileys are always good!!:D:D

OK, well I am working on getting the new template ready to go. Most of you probably won't even notice when I switch it over, at least that is my goal... then I'll know I sucessfully kept the template looking like it does now as you have all requested.

Once the new template is up and running, I'll be able to start working on the others requests and suggestions that you have made, so hang in there, I'm not ignoring any of the things that you have asked for :D

I've got to agree with bscott - the color combination you have now is very easy on the eyes. For what it's worth, I like things just the way they are.

Since an overwhelming majority has stated that they like the color scheme just the way it was, we stuck with it.

You may notice that we have switched over to the new template, but almost everything is the same. There have been some minor changes made to the layout of the site's navigation, but aside from that, not much has changed.

If you notice any potential problems, or if you encounter any errors, please post them in this thread and we will get them worked out.

Thank you for your participation in this poll, we want to bring the best possible experience to the members of our community :)

Overall I like the changes made, but I've got a beef with how Firefox displays the new font in the posts. It comes up really small (looks like 6 or 8pt where before it was about 10 or 12pt), skinny, & like it's being translated to a non-native resolution so it's hard to read.
My settings: Firefox 3.0.10, monitor resolution 1280x1024 (native).

I can adjust using the [control] + mouse wheel, but it makes everything else look huge and it never really fixes the "translated" look.

Hmmm, I'm running FireFox and I don't seem to have that problem, can someone post a screenshot?

Here's a screenshot but of course it may look different on your setup.

I looked over the settings and I think I may have found what you were referring to.

Does it look better now?

OK, sorry for the mix-up... I know how it is when you are used to something then all of the sudden, it changes.

I haven't been around long enough to notice that the font looked different, but I certainly would have noticed as you guys did.

As you may also notice, I made the smilies a little easier to access, but I still have to arrange them in a better manner than they are now, and then I will start to work on getting some new smilies as requested.
