Since I can't seem to find a 5th/6th Gen VFR owner who wants to trade for my Versys....

My Versys is too quiet. I've heard some Ninja 650R's that sounded downright awful, and way too loud. Is there a way to liven things up a little bit without irritating my neighbors?

For the sake of comparison, I had a Scorpion pipe on my Wee Strom that just about perfect. Not loud, but better than the "puff puff puff" of the OE muffler.

I know the Muzzy and Jardine are too loud... Most others come with a quiet insert making it acceptable. I'm welding a Magnaflow muffler with a Yoshimura quiet insert to replace the Muzzy silencer.
Here's an aftermarket exhaust comparison that'll give you an idea even if it's in french, with decibels shown compared to stock 89db @ 4000 rpm, and dyno charts (ER6):

Invader.. Props for the great info in dB values. The db values really help on getting a grasp on how loud exhausts are. I have ordered a Leo Vince and am surprised it's only 88db and stock is 89. Might have to run it without the cork! I'm used to my DRZ with a full yosh@ 96+db corked or 100+ uncorked.

Two Brothers has a tip that quites.

I have the two bro vale aluminum can with the silencer.
I love the sound of it, especially on the back pressure.

My buddy rides a 1200 sportster, and complimented me on how it sounds.
Of course his drowns mine out, side by side.

you really have to hear it in person.
The videos just don't do it justice.

In the Uk the choice seems to be between the IXIL's and the MTC, both are road legal and (should you wish) both can have the baffles removed to piss off the neighbours. I have a MTC can, the one reputed to be the noisier the less sophisticated, but its around 40% the price of the IXIL's so I suppose thats not surprising.
