We installed these for long trip touring and they moved the handlebars almost 2 inches closer. Much more comfortable on long trips. The gap looks funky, but the kit was cheap and it works and looks good to us.

Where did you purchase the spacer kit from, and what was the cost?

Because the Versys Handlbar mount is slightly staggered top to bottom, I had to dremel grind-off part of the very bottom and top pieces that fit in the bottom handlebar round place and the top piece where it contacts the handlebar. This cut-out the side of one of the bolt holes for those 2 pieces to account for the stagger. There is still plenty of surface area for the job.

It feels secure and the assortment of lengths of bolts that they send are mucho strong. I used blue locktite on the new bolts.
