Anybody have the above combination. I just ordered the Algard piece and would like to add the SW-Motech guards but I am not sure if there will be a clearance issue.

No one's tried this combo? Anyone have pics on how the SW-Motech bars mount? Maybe I could figure out if the combo will work by looking at some pics (after my Algard comes in that is).

Are you talking about the SW Motech crash bars? There are a lot of photos on this site of those. Im not sure what the alguard is.

Ok. Ask and ye shall recieve. No fitment issues whatsoever.

The Motech bars are easy to install. And the Algard even easier.

I have absolutely no affiliation with Mr. Marovic of Algard. But he makes a fine product and it was shipped in a timely manner. Even supplied loctite and a CD showing installation.
Now I just need to find some dirt/gravel/snot for a road test!

siyeh, are those the SWM highway pegs? Do they come with the mounts? Also do they fold up? Got any pics of them folder?

I got the highway pegs from Twisted Throttle. They do fold up. I think they are called "Rivco"? Had to buy the clamps seperate. Once I find the final location? I need to run a screw thru the clamps. They move around a bit.

Siyeh; thanks.:thumb: I'll be placing an order to TwistedThrottle now.

Do you ride the bike with the Radiator side covers off or was it just during installation? Also, is your Algard with the updated mounting (to the frame). If not, I understand they will send the update mounting.

Do you find the highway pegs comfortable? I put some on the SW-Motech bars I had on my KLR and hardly ever used them because of the positioning not being the greatest (the KLR bars had mounting points welded in place). At least the ones on the bars for the Versys are movable.

Mike, the pegs do fold up.

DD? I had the side covers off for painting. You dont need to take them off to mount the crash bars. The Algard does not mount to the header pipes. It mounts to the lower engine.
I cant imagine 1000 mile days without highway pegs. I've put them on every bike I've owned. One needs to stretch out once in awhile.:)

Ordered algard bash plate - email recieved today saying it has been mailed. I hope it arrives looking as good as the forum pics make it seem. His internet service has been very prompt and professional.
Thanks for those who took the intial "chance" on this product.

I am not sure what you are asking. My bike has never been down so I cant comment on the SW guards helping in a crash. However,, the no-longer-in-production Algard works fine as it was intended. It is/was a GRAVEL guard not a bash plate. For me it was worth the money cuz I ride mucho gravel,,,,

I installed my Motech guards this afternoon. It might help if your could read German. Thank goodness for the pictures. The quality is good , but I had a HELL of a time getting the front bolts to start with the new lock nuts. I had to grind a taper on the end of the bolts and it was still very hard to start. I did get them on and they look great. Really pretty straight forward install.
