Hi there from sunny (well mostly) Devon in South West UK
Born again biker ,first bike in 30 years ,just had to plump for a new orange Versys in November.Still taking it easy, mostly fair weather riding so still running in (just 350 mls now) got a feeling the miles will start to rise quickly now.
Had quite a few really nice rides all types of roads, tho. mainly twisty down here in Devon,so ideal.

Took a days refresher course with a local school before I started trying bikes which served to sharpen my desire.

Love my V,fitted Ermax hugger, pyramid fender extenda, scottoiler,KTM handguards,Givi top box with backrest and stop lights, bike came with free "deal" of low gel seat, kawa (givi) panniers and vario screen. Also got a battery optimiser.Currently looking at mounts for GPS (navman) and occasional camera perhaps.

Looking to have first service soon, though have changed oil/ filter at 250 mls, (mineral oil) and also adjusted chain once( only slight adjust needed as you would expect)

Also use the versys forum and found it v useful, likewise hope to find this new forum equally helpful/interesting.

Not taken bike out at night yet (i know coward!!) but may take it for a brief spin to Paignton seafront tonight and have a stroll.

Cheers
ps also fitted twin Stebel horns to my bike -hence my monika!!

twohoots, glad you enjoy the V. I don't blame you for not riding at night and I avoid it when I can, too dangerous and that's when most drunks are out.

Looks like you're putting a lot a good mods on the bike.

Cheers

Hi Twohoots,

Can you tell me the model of the KTM handguard that you have on your Versys. Did you take them black or orange, because I was wondering if the KTM orange matched the Versys one. Also, if you could post a picture, I would love to see your bike with all the mods.

As for GPS mount, have you looked at the RAM mount (www.ram-mount.com)

Thanks

Hi Actar, thanks for reply, used black guards, dont know how many models there are but they were widely recomended by members on the versys forum.I thought the orange ones would not be a good colour match,I will check my paperwork and get back to you with the details where bought(online)

Beware if you do fit the guards, they do a good job,but if you refit the existing bar ends ,by tightening the allen bolt you will eventually cause the bolt to pull through the rubber bush and risk losing it ,dangerous and not good.Could use spacers but I eventually fiited new simple all metal bar ends.

Pictures of the bike last month on my photo album(http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/stuartbull1/
minus the top box and twin horns ,will put some more photos up soon, when we have a sunny day.

Hope that helps
