: Why doesn't the Versatile System have versatile luggage?

I have been very excited about this bike since Cycle World reported on bikes we can’t get here (USA). I have always said if they make a BMW GS type bike that is street oriented, I would buy it. I think THEY are Kawasaki and IT is the Versys.

And then I went online to price the Verisys and its accessories. The Kawi US website does not yet have accessories listed so I went to the Kawi UK site. There it states saddle bags (panniers as they say over there) cannot be used together with the tail bag (top case). Now that is not very versatile.

Am I wrong to think the Versatile System buyer is the type that would demand all of the available luggage all at the same time? Is this situation unique to the UK/Europe model?

No, its unique to the Kawasaki accessories. There are others that will work both tail & side cases together. I agree with you, its funny to call it 'versatile' & then limit options like that. Maybe they should call it:

The Versys. Short for 'Versatile System'*
