I have decided to put my versys up for sale. I love the bike but I am just to involved with trying to finish school right now to have time to ride it. All I am asking for is the pay-off amount which I am unsure of right now. I'll call the bank tomorrow for the payoff amount. If anyone is interested, just let me know: mercy_cyclist@hotmail.com or derick.pickle@okstate.edu. Please feel free to call me as well if you want. My cell # is: 918-773-7477.
Since I am so busy with school right now, I really would not be able help with delivery, so pick-up or shipping is up to the buyer. I've heard of services that basically pick up the vehicle and take it to the buyer but honestly, I have no experience with this. I am located in Broken Arrow, Ok (suburb of Tulsa, Ok). Zip is 74014 if anybody needs it for shipping estimate info.
The bike is stock. I added a stainless-steel versys radiator guard and flipped the windscreen. I did try the vacuum mod that is of very popular mention in this forum, but ended up changing back to the stock configuration as it felt like it robbed the bike of low end power. Mileage is currently at 3949 miles. I do still use it when possible to commute to school (1-2 days a week), although it is not practical most of the time due to the amount of material I have to carry with me. Basically, it may accumulate a few more miles due to this fact.
I performed the first oil change within 20 miles of new and replaced with fresh break-in oil. I then ran the break-in oil to 1200 miles and replaced with Amsoil 10w-40 full synthetic. I made another full synthetic change at 3000 miles. Amsoil recommends 6000 but I am just to anal to do so. Hence the quick service interval.
I have made two minor adjustments to the chain tension and degrease/re-lube the chain at least every 600 miles. Again, very anal about maintenance.
If anyone is curious, I have not had the dealer perform any service on the bike yet. Honestly, they told me to just bring it back when the valve service interval comes around at ~15,000 miles. They said that the versys motor is pretty much bomb proof in terms of maintenance.
The bike consistently gets over 50 mpg and burns zero oil.
So thats about it. If anyone is interested please feel free to get in touch. I can send pics upon request.
