A recent post somebody made to a 3 year old classified ad reminded me of what some other forums do. They set a time limit on ads. If an ad sits dormant (no posts or views) for X number of days it is automatically deleted.

Maybe we could get the site mod to enable the same thing here. Then we won't be looking to buy stuff that was posted years ago...

I agree! Alot of the 'for sale' items have been sold and no longer need to be listed. It would be so much easier when looking for items if only current ones were listed.

We can't delete anything on the forum. I can set it though so that posts older than X amount of days are hidden.

I've set the Classified sections to only show threads 100 days old and newer. You can still manually change this though.

If you scroll to the bottom, you'll see a Display Options menu block. There you can choose to customize how you want the forum to organize threads.

That's good. Having old closed ads is good if you are listing a new ad, and want to look up the price of what something sold for in the past.
