Ok, I've installed the Roxy Riser and taken a short ride. Along with the Kurgran highway pegs, it makes long distance riding much easier. I put the pouch over the risers to carry things I need at the ready, like sunglasses, pens, insurance papers etc.

Looks good. Did you have any issues with the cable and hose lengths?

No problem with cables or hoses. I had plenty of room.

At the end of the Handguards thread you will see where I got everything worked out with the Givi Windshield.

Any idea how far forward you can pivot those risers? I ask 'casue for me, the bars are way too close and high... Thanks

you can pivot them horizontal to the forks if you want to. That should move them away and down for you.

Mr. Don. Can you give me a model # and where you bought your risers? I can see them in my future,,,,

You mentioned the risers and pegs made longer rides more comfortable. I have a mid back issue, too many hours in front of a PC.

When I ride for longer than an hour and a half the spot between the shoulder blades starts to tighten up. Do you think the risers would help?

I am 6' with a 33" reach.

Thanks

They have differently helped me in my riding distances and I have schratnel in my back left over from the Vietnam War and have broken my back also. I find there is no real solution except to stop for a break when you need to and plan that amount of time into your trip. I wish I could be more accommodating, but that's just the honest truth. They help a lot, but frequent stops are still the order of the day for me.

You know, I've seen your sig line a few times wondering what kind of bike a '68 TET was. Now I know...

I was on the Rox site and noticed the anti-vibration risers. I wonder how well they work and if you would lose the pivoting option of the other model. Doesn't look like it. I still think that less vibration through the mounts might allow me getting rid of the bar ends, thus I could use the KTM handguards. It's a thought.

I took my bar end weights off when I installed my handguards and can't really tell any difference. I think maybe metal parts of the handguards help absorb some of the vibrations but can't swear to it. Anyway, I'm happy with them.

Sorry about the confusion. Believe me, I'd really rather have owned a bike with that name than actually have gone through it. (The TET offensive.) I was wounded on March 18, 1968 and again on July 4th 1968. The July 4th one was the one that really hurt me and is still a reminder today. Almost severed my spinal cord. At least I survived. Sometimes I wonder if that was good or bad.

A point of reference here. The movie Platoon was the outfit I was with. The 25th Inf. Div.

Hope you have a wonderful day.

Don,

As someone who was state side in 1968 I want to thank you for going through the hell you survived. I'm sorry you have a "reminder", but glad you came back.

And I apologize for the mistreatment you probably got from us when you got back.
