How do I wire a 12v outlet to my Versys?

Here's is how I did mine. You can actually put one on either side of the dash panel if you want to. There is enough room. I also included a fuse block link that I did to run the power to the power outlet.

For my taste, I like the dash the way it is and decided to add the power outlet to the side of the bike instead using parts form Powerlet http://www.powerletproducts.com/

Where on the side of the bike did you add your power outlet? I want to add one for my heated clothing, so I'd like to avoid having to plug in on the dash.

I was going to make this the next purchase but then I decided to go with the TourMaster heated liner - that liner comes with the heatroller and the wiring. I'll just tap that directly into my power panel. The other heatroller and liner setups required a power outlet. Since I'd rather be warm and comfy this fall season - I'll save the money for the heated gear and hold off for a bit on the power outlet.

That looks pretty nice. I already have the socket because I was going to install one on my previous bike. I saw a picture someplace of an outlet in the lower edge of the front fairing... I can't find the picture now.

I bought a weatherproof 12v outlet and an inline fuse from auto parts store for about $15 and wired it under the seat into the tail light harness so it operates when the key is on. My vest and GPS cords can run under the front of the seat and the plug is out of sight and harms way. Works like a charm.

I have a 12V in that same spot, but the one that I used is a bit tall. Once I plugged my GPS cord into it, I realized that the handlebars hit the back of the plug. I have ordered and will be installing a low profile marine plug like that shown in the link above.

The Powerlet products are awesome, but it gets pretty pricey to plan for every eventuality with adapters and such. Sure wish I could go that route, but it's not worth it for me.
