It's a disc lock that also doubles as a footpeg. When you get on your bike to ride and all of a sudden you notice you're missing your footpeg, you know to take off the disc lock.

MY experience, the ONE time I rode my Bandit w/ the wheel lock still on my front disc, was that I got about 2 feet and SUDDENLY found myself lying on the road wondering just WHAT THE F*** JUST HAPPENED???

Did NOT have time to get my feet onto the 'pegs to notice that one was missing....:huh:

Nah, I listened to my MSF instructors on alot of things.

From page 33 of the MSF Basic Rider Course manul (found here: http://www.msf-usa.org/CurriculumMaterials/BRC_Handbook_Vs71_noprint.pdf):

"Park the motorcycle in first gear for extra stability, especially if parked on an incline."

Would you park a car in neutral with no emergency brake? You've got to be kidding. :confused: Sigh...

Odd, I could have sworn my instructors said that when you park it in your garage you can leave it out of gear.

When I'm on inclines I park in gear, of course and when I park at school I put it in gear to keep people from moving the bike unless they know to take it out of gear, but it's been so long since I've ridden anywhere and stopped for more than gas.

I always park my bike in gear...put it in first then roll it forward till the tranny slop is gone then drop the kickstand down...learned the hardway...was washing my bike off years ago...sat there for and hour...minute i walked away from it WHAM!! dropped right over.....had it in nuetral..never again

I think it would annoy the hell out of me to have a different footpeg on each side of the bike...

Looks like a pretty cool set up, though!
